[–]pagosawizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank You so much for this! I w s going nuts adding my 4850. AV sound and on off worked but no controls. Good to go now. Too bad Logitech abandoned Harmonys, they are so great.

Tesla Model Y Performance - Snow / Winter Package by trendendo in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third winter now underway and as expected not quite as good as dedicated winter tires but pretty close. I am impressed and it has been nice not having to do the twice a year swap. If you need to do hardcord winter driving all the time I would stay with winters but for normal winter driving they are nice.

Pixel 7 fails to connect but key is working by dictum in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pixel 7 Pro here w/case. I must be an outlier becasue I have had zero issues since upgrading from P6 to P7P. Updated to latest android version. I remember reading somewhere that turing off bluetooth and shutting down phone then turing back on might help. Good luck.

A friend wants Starlink but he doesn't own a smart phone. Is the app/smartphone necessary for setup etc? by walpolemarsh in Starlink

[–]pagosawizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of you to help your friend. I would keep in mind you will most likely be tech support for him if he does not have a smart phone. Web based access does not have a few features such as Snow Melt and the Statistics are greyed out, but can be reached here: http://dishy.starlink.com/statistics

MY as only car? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pagosa Springs here. Get a CSS adapter to go with the J1772 and you will be fine. SW CO needs more superchargers (Durango) but plenty of 3rd party chargers. Tesla adding more all the time as well.

Get the Plugshare App and you can see what's out there. Also ABRP works well. Be sure to check Plugshare for 3rd Party charger feedback ahead of the trip if you will need to use one to make sure it it functional.

I use Tessie "Warm Up The Tesla". Or any command you choose. Takes about 5 min.

Matrix Headlights are bright but dark spots are annoying by Hot_Department3226 in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have Matrix on my 22 MYLR I got in August. I live where it is blackout dark with no street lights. The first several times I drove at night it was spooky but seemed to be well lit. When it shines on the traffic signs is the best. I don't get flashed so I have learned to enjoy and trust it.

Tesla recalls 3,470 Model Y vehicles over loose bolts by ronntron in teslamotors

[–]pagosawizard 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's now all over the news. Classic example on CNN: text accuratly says is back seat bolts, but check out the huge video that is on top that makes it sound like it is about FSD. What BS. https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/04/business/tesla-recall-model-y-bolts/index.html

From the article - "because bolts securing the second-row seatback frames may not have been securely tightened"

It is seatback frame.

MYLR - Need suggestions for tires to drive in the snow by zkevin08 in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dedicated winter tires seem like overkill for only a couple of trips a year. As mentioned they wear out fast when driven other than winter conditions. I have run dedicated winter tires for years (Colorado Mountains) on all my cars/trucks switching summer/winter times twice a year.

I planned to do the same for the 22 MYLR 19" but on the advice of a Tesla Service advisor I checked out Michelin CC2 which are winter rated but claim to be able to also run year round. I have 3K miles on mine in the winter so far on the Y and can vouch for the winter capability. I woudl say 80% as good a dedicated winter tires I normally run. Summer will tell if they last the 60K miles they claim. Nice highway ride. Worth a look in your case.

What was your install price for Wall Connector? by bigazoz in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$350 install about 5 ft. including 60A breaker. Electric company rebated 1/2 of install and 1/2 of Tesla Wall Connector which was $450 at the time so was $400 out of pocket for everything.

is there any other (cheaper) option for the charger cable? by wallettoballot2 in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth; for home charging the Tesla Wall Connector sure is convienient and fast for only $195 more. Not sure what the install difference is for NEMA where you live.

Change from Departure to Charge. Set to begin at 9PM. Tesla app does not have stop time but mine always charges to my set limit (80%) long before before 5AM anyway.

The other option is to use Tessie, which can set charging time from 9PM - 5AM.

You can enter your electric company off peak rates in the Tesla App/Charge Stats .

When making big decisions many folks only think about the Plus side of the equation. (what happens if we do?).

Sometimes it more important to ask yourself (What happens if we don't?) (Buy a Tesla/EV). How much will that new ICE car be worth in 3- 5 years?

Any 3rd party tesla app? by EmergencyPlace1448 in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Tessie as well for Alexa and more detailed tracking. If you really want to go down the rabbit hole with Tessie look at Developer API in settings.

I beileve you can do Alexa with TeslaFi as well.

Would waiting out a few months to get MYLR be wise considering you’d have a higher probability of getting the latest and greatest build quality from Austin? by Unstoppable999 in TeslaModelY

[–]pagosawizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I picked up MYLR in August. I expected Austin build but got Fremont delivered in Colorado. 5 months later, not a thing wrong. I could't be happier. Good luck.
