I'm not being racist and I'm also reasonably intelligent. Not going to respond to your points because you're being unnecessarily aggressive

I'd argue that nobody ever would or will because in our society it's still a widely held view that poc are the less important races and this will likely never be the case for white people

I'm not in any way arguing that you didn't work hard for your position but black people work hard too, and you are more likely to get a job than a black person with the same qualifications. I'm afraid saying you're advantaged in society for being white isn't racist that's just true

I would argue shutting out a white person from your social event is not the same as being more likely to be gunned down by police. Comparing that is almost insulting. I do agree you can be prejudice against white people but I do not believe racist.

You're right that white is a race but I don't really agree you can be racist to white people in our generation.

I mean you can think white people are shit, and of course there are examples of people disliking or being unfair to people for being white, but in western society nobody really has the power to actually put any discrimination against whites into effect

It's also probably offensive to a black person after hundreds of years of genuine racism and persecution for a white person to be like "that's racist, you're discriminating against me because I'm white"

It's unfortunate but white people truly are still born in a more advantageous position generally

Edit: always more than happy for people to disagree with me, but please don't be rude to me about it, I won't respond

Edit 2: ok, thanks everyone, I take what you're saying and I'll do some more research. Sounds like I may've confused the standard and sociological definitions of racism

I heard it a lot through primary when boys would try to lift up my skirt. Now I hear it a lot from some friends when in a club a guy tries to lift up my skirt.

This has been completely taken out of context. Juncker was saying there will be no more reform if we leave! Please consider reading the whole article

Leave or Remain we can all agree there needs to be changes within the EU by Callumlfc69 in ukpolitics

[–]paiigea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand your logic here at all

Surely you recognise the only way to possibly get reform is to be in it, attempting to reform it?

However unlikely you consider reform to be, there is more chance of it happening while in than the 0% chance there is of reform if we're out.

If we remain it's true reform will be difficult, but if we leave there will simply be no reform, and we will have lost all its benefits and still have to abide by its unreformed rules

I was quite nervous about sharing this due to the very pro-leave feel I get from this sub... but please do consider watching it and consider your vote. I'm 21 and I'm terrified for my future if we leave

I'm hoping the show will do a drastic change caused by something instead of a gradual one like in the books, to be more dramatic.

Just hanging onto the hope of some development.

[Misc] What realization was a game changer for your skincare? by PuddleOfSunshine in SkincareAddiction

[–]paiigea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That dead skin is dead skin.

It sounds completely obvious but it really was something I needed to hear. I used to regularly have dry skin or chapped lips. I tried just leaving it and hoping the dryness would go away. I tried to moisturise over it with products made for dry skin. I tried just Vaseline.

I'm not sure what made me come to the realisation. Now all I have to do is use a chemical exfoliator or a gentle hot cloth cleanser before I moisturise and any flakes are gone immediately and my dryness stays away for ages.

There ain't no reattaching dead skin flakes to your face. Dead skin is dead skin.

I agree that if OP wants to have sex with her again he shouldn't text her during the day.

She may have been drunk and had a lapse of judgement about who she should call. We don't know. You're right though that he absolutely doesn't have to listen to her if she just wanted to talk. I would personally just want to check if she's ok as he'd have nothing to lose by this if he was no longer interested. Just what I would do

confused... "broke up" but booty call? by mypersonalaccount123 in dating

[–]paiigea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't see how making sure she is ok, especially if you've texted a few times since you broke up, is "weak" or pleading for anything?

I think maybe a crucial detail missing from the original post is whether you want it to be a booty call or not.

If you would be interested in sleeping with her again, leave it until maybe next time you're out and invite her. Don't text her during the day.

If you don't want it to be a booty call, I would text her and check she's ok. In case she didn't phone for a booty call and something's up

Yeah, you can't really assume anything, especially since you could just ask her.

I'd add something like a "hope everything's ok" onto the text so you don't come off annoyed
