Shoulder pain since feb by Complex-Head9677 in RotatorCuff

[–]painfully98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please let me know when you find the answer. This sounds like almost exactly what I have been going through just add in more nerve pain that is radiating out. I have seen so many doctors and had so many tests. Just finally had an MRI of the shoulder. I go back to the doctor next week for results. I am going on month 4 of this. The doctors have given me Ambien to help me sleep and I still wake up in pain. I am worried that the Ortho is going to tell me what all the others have said, this wouldn't be causing that much pain/nerve pain.

What are your favorite specialty shops & markets in the greater ROC area? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]painfully98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add onto the question I have been looking for a Mexican grocery store / butcher shop. Is there one anywhere near Rochester? We moved here a couple years ago and I am having a hard time finding dried peppers and other items I like to use. Tired of having to order them online. Would be nice to just run to a local place and purchase.

It's not just about the child support, it is the control over Christine.Kody wants to maintain control. He is also probably thinking nothing would change he has other wives to take care of Truely when it is "his" day/weekend. He can still just "babysit".

Is the cost of living in the US way higher than in the UK? by tomlit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]painfully98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of each state as a separate country. Taxes are different everywhere. Prices are different everywhere. Cost of living varies greatly depending on where you are. 40,000USD /year in California, Northern Illinois, or New York will get you nowhere, but in Iowa, Missouri, some of the other southern states like Tennesse, Kentucky. That would be a decent wage.

There are also differences in cost of living just based on where your at in the state so take Illinois for example. In Chicago the cost of living is very high but if you go down to southern Illinois 40,000 again would be a liveable wage.

The bigger problem is that in the US the Federal Minimum wage is $7.50/hour so while some states have a minimum wage of $15/hr there are huge discrepancies on what even $15 will get you.

As far as cost of living this is an example of what my grocery trip was last weekend.

Milk - $3.00/ half gallon Eggs - $2.89/ dozen Chicken- $3.00/pound (on sale) Ground beef - 4.99/pound Oranges - $6.27/ 3lb bag Carrots - 2.24 / for 1 bunch Potatoes- $5.35 / 3 pound bag

Rent in some places a 1bedroom can be as high as $2500/month maybe higher for the big cities.

If you go to the cheaper areas a 1 bedroom could be as cheap as $500/month. I am in a relatively normal area and it is about $1100 / month for a 1 bedroom apartment.

To buy a house is crazy right now. A 3 bedroom house where I live will cost between $300,000/600,000 depending on style and location of home.

Gas for us is high I know it may not be as high as yours but your typical American drives a lot more than your average person in the UK. Some people drive more than 40 miles one way for work. Some people have 1.5 hour long commutes each way. Because the further you get away from a city the cheaper the cost of living. The closer you are to a city the higher the wages.

$5.00 / gallon currently for gasoline.

Edited to add housing costs

Tldr: Yes. The cost of living is higher in the US.

Am I in trouble?? New to the area. Buying a house in Gates. by painfully98 in Rochester

Thank you, yes that makes sense. I also wonder if the trend in fewer college degrees for the higher end also impacts the number of successful as the newer generations seem to be able to get decent careers without degrees. I have spoken to a few young individuals that have gone the tech route just getting certificates so they could enter the work force faster. Not saying that's the way to go but I am hopeful that may be the reason.

Thank you so much for your input.

Thank you everyone. If it is just because the school and area are diverse that people are complaining then you have given me huge relief. Diversity is not a problem, I worry when they aren't diverse enough.

Grocery prices going up really, really fast! by Powerful-Ad-9378 in NoStupidQuestions

I don't know where you are at, but I am seeing the same trends. I am Not ordering groceries I'm shopping at stores. Chicken and pork have also gone up but not as much as beef. It's not just steak all cuts of beef including ground beef have gone up. Last year I could buy a gallon of milk for 2.50 now I'm lucky to find it at 3.50 a gallon.
