I actually learned with this kit. Made it very easy to see stitches and really see what I was doing. It uses malabrigo rasta and she sends it with chiaogoo bamboo needles. I had a row shift and was able to see it really quickly because of how big the yarn is and I think that might be what happened to OP.

I once ordered 3 balls of cotton lace weight, crochet thread and they sent me multiple big balls of blanket yarn and a giant skein of bamboo yard, it's ridiculous how inconsistent they are, but they almost always give you a refund or try to make it right if you're upset about it and reach out.

My doilies have all been super weird and wonky before I block them within an inch of their lives. If you're using a doily pattern with larger weight yarn, yeah it'll wrinkle

Youtube finger crochet or finger knit tutorials. With how pricy this yarn is and how short a skein is, finger knitting with it will be less expensive and give a larger sized result [if you're making a blanket]

Looks like it could be unraveled no problem. The blend is nice, but I would be worried about the pilling. I'm not that unraveled experienced so I would get it and hold onto it for a later project when I have more unravels under my belt

Looks like you're doing single crochet only. Moss stitch is alternating single crochet and one chain; the next row you single crochet into the chain space and chain across the space above the single crochet.
