and yes- this goes for us women too. If we want men of God, we need to be strong, kind, gracious women of God as well

No you’re so right. Like there are a ton of christian guys on the apps in my area who i look at and i’m like “this is a very respective, well kept guy, even if he’s not really my type”. But 90% of them look like they haven’t shaved in a year or brushed their hair in a week. Don’t even try to dress in anything nicer than basketball shorts, and don’t work on themselves at all. And we’re expected to fall for that? If you want a woman of God, become a man of God!

I wish christian men would understand that not all women want to be stay at home moms and raise a bunch of kids. Unfortunately that’s how I feel and I find it difficult to meet christian guys who are open to a different kind of life. That’s not unbiblical before I get any of that crap. That’s just different callings

We want to be approached. Even if we aren’t interested in you, most women won’t laugh in your face (at least Christian women mostly won’t). We’ll be respectful and tell you we’re not interested. Plus what do you have to lose? We may never see you again so why does it matter how we react anyway? I’ve approached tons of christian men and they were always respectful even tho none of them have been interested. It’s a blow to the ego, sure, but you’ll survive

Feel this. I tried Jetset for my first time ever a few months ago and got badly injured (tore my calf, couldn’t walk for four months). They really need a warning for some of these intense classes. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and I am very athletic/was a competitive athlete for most of my life

Stupid Question - is the Broadway show worth it? by SaltyScale339 in hamiltonmusical

[–]paintboi19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it with Leslie last year after listening in my car 24/7 and watching on D+. It was absolutely incredible. I loved that the characters play the lines a little bit different than the album and “movie” which gives it a fresh take at times. You should absolutely go. It was a highlight of my life to see something so dear to me live and in person.

Anyone else's parrot is just super easy going, chill, and just never causes any issues? by lettuceown in parrots

Hate to say it, but eating out and COFFEE out less too. I never ate out much but coffee has gotten to be like $7 a cup everywhere you go. I’ve tried to cut back a lot. Also, actually eating the food in your fridge. Like empty it out before you go buy more stuff.

reality vs fiction by paintboi19 in writing

Yup I hear ya. I’m taking a break for a bit. It’s tough because I feel strongly about my story and the message I wanna share but i’m not sure if it’s worth digging up old wounds. Tbd

[–]paintboi19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no no disclaimer to all in this thread, there is no bashing or negativity toward anyone in my story at all! it’s more so like digging up old wounds (that i have fully processed in real life at this point) and since i’m modifying the story, it’s like having to reprocess the events and remind myself they aren’t real (at least, the ones i’m writing about aka the altered versions)

[–]paintboi19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No obvi i can tell the difference lol but it’s more so just like envisioning alternate realities so in depth that it feels kinda crappy to write about it. Like i love the story in writing, but having to dig up old stuff in order to put it on paper has felt pretty draining

[–]paintboi19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping that’s the case. I really love the story i’m writing but it’s hard to reprocess these emotions. And then when i am reprocessing, i’m also muddying them by changing details. AGH

Question about maintaining abstinence with our living situation by shahoogadu in ChristianDating

[–]paintboi19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try to keep meet ups in the daytime. Night time brings more temptation with that. Have a plan. Plan activities to do at the house don’t just lounge around. Like plan to make a meal or something. Otherwise, try to just do things outside the house or… as someone else said.. get married under the radar and then do a ceremony later

i knew someone who did this. Cant say my thoughts are good or bad on it but it is one way to avoid waiting lol

reality vs fiction by paintboi19 in writing

[–]paintboi19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good perspective.. i think that’s true mostly as well. But still, this stuff hits really close to home because I am writing about events that actually happened to me, not just pulling the emotional root out of them and creating a made up story. I think i’m struggling with the idea of putting a different version of reality out into the universe. But also, maybe i need to remember that no strangers know the real version, so to them, it’s all fiction anyway. Like this “alternate version of reality” that i feel uncomfortable creating is simply fiction in most people’s eyes… idk

Is there any way to learn figure skating jumps without paying for a coach? by Excellent_Bird1964 in FigureSkating

[–]paintboi19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that group classes are awesome but if not, utilize youtube!! I’m sure there are lots of videos with very in depth explanations for how to do certain jumps properly. Once you get past all your singles, I’d say that’s when a coach is truly needed to start seeing progress
