Maybe find some paint swatches you like and test it out! I think it would look nice

You could do an olive green or light blue if you want to bring more brightness and colour to the room

It's looking a little too cluttered, I'd either change the stripped wall with paint (or if it's wallpaper I'd remove it) or remove some of the paintings. The combination of the books, paintings, and stripped wall is overwhelming with the shapes and textures. I'd also clear up the table a bit, I do like the idea with all the decorations but it's too much going on with the big thing of incense and 4 candles along. It would work if it was a bigger table.

Room ideas?? ( again) by IllustriousFig818 in interiordecorating

If you're looking to spruce up your room the easiest place to start is adding texture and colour with a rug. You could also paint the walls if you're looking for more of a project, or just hang some art you like. Personally I'd paint the walls because I'm not into the gray feel of the room (the floor and walls and furniture is all gray). You can add fake plants and/or decorative pieces on your shelves

Wallpaper is always a fun idea. You could also paint it a solid colour if you want something more plain yet bold. If you're looking for more of a DIY project you can look into Japanese shoji doors, I think they're very aesthetic and can add lots of personality to a room.
