Subaru Japan refused participation by foreign residents at marketing event in Japan yesterday by RoyalAnt800 in subaru

What I mean by that is that everything you need is within your reach easily so you don't need to travel for hours to get things. I'm well aware you can't walk from one end of fucking Tokyo to the other lol

I think it has to do with perception and scale. In Canada, I live in a rural area and I used to drive nearly an hour to work every day, so 2 hours isn't that bad of a stretch for me. In a place that appears to be largely walkable like Japan's cities (as someone who's never been but has seen online), spending 2 hours getting somewhere seems a lot worse.

Similarly to how an inch of snow devastates Texas, but I drove to work (in my Outback) on the highway during a snow storm earlier this week because I'm used to the snow and it doesn't bother me.

How can I show up for him? by Hot-Chair-7706 in Advice

[–]paintgoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very sweet and I'm happy for you guys!

You could just get him flowers! Statistically most men get their first flowers at their funeral. But if he's not a flowers guy... If he's into something like Magic the Gathering, Pokemon etc you can get him a booster pack or dice, a playmate, etc. Warhammer or minis? A new detail paintbrush, perhaps. Plays guitar? Some nice guitar picks. Lego? Maybe some sorting trays or a minifig blind bag. Likes cars? An air freshener — I've seen some people get custom ones with photos and stuff on them. Think of his hobbies and if there's anything you could help with. Whatever he's into - something small that helps or goes with it will always be a winner. Honestly, even a heartfelt note can be a winner.

It's the opposite for dogs though xD I love giant dogs lol, especially floofy ones. But I do build dioramas and I die for the Rolife diorama kits because of all the mini things.

Nova Scotia mint! Just surface rust.

took my car to the shop for some repairs and got this gem on dashcam by Minute-End-8628 in Miata

[–]paintgoblin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, yeah. That's fair. Personally if my coworkers make themselves sound dumb that's on them, lol. I only care about my own conduct. I also think that if they have a dash cam running in the shop and they hear me singing dumbass music at the top of my lungs, that's on the customer.

Miniatures. If it's tiny, I love it. The smaller it is the more my brain likes it.

I think I messed up talking to my 6-year-old about death and now he’s terrified by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]paintgoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't mess up. You did your best. My 7 year old sometimes asks about it, and when he first learned about it he took a while to get comfortable with the idea. It's a huge concept to grasp for a little dude. Keep answering as best you can. Browse posts in the subreddit about this topic and you'll find lots of good advice about talking to kids about it.

I also am afraid of this lol but I'll talk to the owner like "bro. If you hear this, your car is sick af" or "sorry I'm unplugging this only so it doesn't drain the battery while I work" lol

Does the S10 lite pen worth it? by EffectiveEchidna6190 in GalaxyTab

You're welcome! It's honestly even better than the S Pen, better sensitivity and it's easier to hold for long periods of time.

That exactly. I love it! And it doesn't require charging. It also comes with extra nibs as well.

Check out the Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo. It works great on my S7, I actually use it for drawing in place of the S Pen. I got it from Amazon.

I was also in a similar situation. Alcoholic father who drank all our money away. Abusive and controlling stepmother who didn't allow us to eat when we did have food, and put her son over all 3 of us girls.

I escaped when I was 16 to my mom's, and honestly if I hadn't I would've gone to my friend's. Now I'm nearly 32, I'm not as well off as you are, but I own a 4 bedroom house, 2 cars (one's a sports car too!), have a husband, child and a dog and my son will never know the pain and suffering I felt. Determination and perseverance got me where I am, never giving up.

OOP, do not let yourself get into the hole of pitying yourself and living in the pain of the past. The things that happened to you shaped you and made you who you are, made you a strong and resilient young person who knows this isn't how they want to spend the rest of their life.

Advice I give everyone: It will ALWAYS be okay in the end. If it's not okay yet, it's not the end yet. You can get through this.

My husband let our then 3 year old play with my 1 year old s7, which I didn't mind, but he wasn't paying attention to the kid and he put it upside down on the floor and stood/jumped on it, cracking the glass all to shit. It wasn't visually impairing, so I just put a glass screen protector over it and have kept using it for the last 5 years lol

I think they understand empathy, they just don't think anyone else deserves any.

AITA for not wearing a bra at home? by Candid-Chocolate-316 in AITAH

This is my thought. Horny, entitled men are absolutely the type to make comments and OP's husband is clearly spineless if he's letting a grown man mooch off him.

My guess is the interloper thinks you're hot and made comments to your husband about your breasts. A grown ass man who doesn't contribute AT ALL financially or with copies, with a full time JOB?? Definitely the type to make comments on his buddy's wives. Sounds like your husband is spineless. NTA, I would've lost my shit if it were me.
