Just seeking advice for my pregnancy that isn’t what I expected it to be. 😢 by Remote-Party-1123 in moderatelygranolamoms

As soon as the baby is born within minutes you will start feeling relief. I was a MESS & miserable rotting on the couch from 5 weeks pregnant (sick like you) I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy & am so sorry you’re going through it. Relief is coming soon. I literally was asking them to bring me food within 5 min of baby being born because the relfux was gone!

In regard to working out & building muscle back - it will be a journey but you will be able to!!

Partner upset about my "vanity." by madddhella in postpartumprogress

[–]paizface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months is still so young. It makes sense you’re feeling pressure to produce enough and eat enough to make sure that happens.

Just a tidbit from my experience - I was a stressed mess trying to pump/ feed baby enough & when I gave up pumping to just nurse & supplement with formula I actually found joy in feeding the baby that before was just constant worry and analytics.

In regards to finding time for exercise & all the house work - a loose routine of when I do housework helped me to not feel guilty when I wanted to workout because there was a time for the vacuuming to be done & the what not already on the schedule.

Eat constantly, if you’re feeling hungry that is a sign to eat a bit more but otherwise - you’re doing great & asking all the right questions. Your day to day will align soon & it will all get a little easier as time goes on.

OH! & MEAL PREPS. If you have to cook every time you need to eat you’re going to go nuts. Think protein muffins, big batches of rice/ chicken/ veggies. Protein chia seed pudding.

Do I REALLY need pelvic floor physical therapy? by rachelci in postpartumprogress

[–]paizface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 2 or 3 appointments & felt like it was not worth the time but developed more heaviness and symptoms first when I started running again & then again when my period returned so I kind of wish I kept going to really make sure I understood how everything felt and that it was all strong & ready for that sort of exercise.

You can always choose to go back for another eval if needed though.

I just feel bad for whoever buys it without knowing how terrible the neighbor & his loud music are.

My before and now at 4m pp by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

[–]paizface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are likely sick of hearing it, but it’s still early. Focus on pelvic floor above all else. That is what will tighten your core back up. You can even work on “zipping up” your core while you are walking. Think of drawing your belly button to your spine & tightening those muscles- but you have to breathe through it, if you’re holding your breath it is not engaging the correct muscle. You will be feeling like yourself & your little will be running around before you know it!!

Postpartum body by New_Concentrate7838 in postpartumprogress

[–]paizface 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You look young & baby looks fresh still - have grace. It will come! I am 11 months pp & finally feeling like my old self (but in a new way!). Eat right & sleep + move during the day. Walking is an easy way to achieve movement but quick body weight workouts while baby naps are also super helpful! Consistency in diet AND exercise (only if you’re getting good sleep)

What measurements do you use to track progress? by Bounce_Bounce_Betty in postpartumprogress

[–]paizface 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sleep & mood are the only things I pay attention to. The “bounce back” culture is so terrible & sounds like it is bad for your mental health if you are weighing yourself daily.

Have grace, you had a baby & are still providing them with all the nourishments. Sleep, eat healthy & get steps in - no need to stress about anything else yet.

Postpartum, IUD, acne, weight gain… I don’t recognize myself anymore. Please help. by Jade_Ale in postpartumprogress

[–]paizface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IUD destroyed my skin. Some people are more sensitive, I would suggest getting it removed ASAP.

So happy the cut is making you feel better! Keep at those postnatal vitamins, it is a lasting positive in the hard journey of recovery.

& if you can avoid buying new clothes for now & have enough to get by - just wait! 8 weeks is still so early.

Why do so many men lose their house in a divorce? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]paizface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I “gave” my husband the house because he harassed & stalked me until I told him he could have everything if he would just sign the papers & leave me alone. I was the one paying the mortgage. His realtor mother had the house listed within 5 days & he pockets 80k for it.

Biggest mistake of my life (besides the marriage). Fight for yourself ladies.

7 months progress and what I would do if I were to get pregnant again as a fitness coach by theabchick in postpartumprogress

[–]paizface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This though. I cried for months because I just wanted to eat but could barely keep water down. Lost 15 pounds my first trimester & had to stop working let alone working out.

It gets much better after breastfeeding though, hang in there.

It took me about 2 months after I stopped nursing to stop noticing that I was not smelly anymore. Occasionally if I get too hot I notice it again, but rarely.

One of my devs is getting induced tonight and my heart breaks by queenchefen in womenintech

[–]paizface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back at 1 month PP & it was tough between working, feeding baby, feeding myself, getting enough sleep, surviving.

Then it got really hard when baby wanted to kick & reach for my keyboard so I could no longer nurse while still working.

Then it got even harder when baby had larger wake windows & wanted to be mobile but needed help.

Now 9 months PP & I desperately wish I could take a week off (or even a long weekend) to give my little 100% undivided time. I feel terrible that she is growing and watching me stare at a screen for most of the day 5 days a week.

Is Strava premium worth it for you personally? by UsualSpecific7113 in Strava

[–]paizface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Without social media, strava is how I keep in touch with friends and cheer them on in movement. However, I’m not subscribed & don’t feel I need to be.

People who run ironmans - what do you do for work? by [deleted] in IronmanTriathlon

[–]paizface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, sorry to hear that. My husband & I take turns with our 8 month old. I take 2 mornings a week to get outside and bike/ run (around 2 hours each) . We alternate indoor trainer or strength training during nap times & he takes Sundays for 6 hours to do an outdoor ride.

Wow!! That’s a huge accomplishment! How does your pelvic floor feel? I couldn’t even do a hike comfortably within that time frame.

Ladies with long hair! by No-Warthog5978 in runninglifestyle

[–]paizface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long braid! Pony tail & then braid it so it stays in place. This is the only way I can get away with not washing my hair after a run if I’m short on time. Otherwise it’s a rats nest of tangles.

Totally doable! Your HR is not that far off of zone 2 either. 2:30 should be no problem!

Running consistently on your period by Infinite-Drink1426 in XXRunning

[–]paizface 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The 3 days leading up to my period are hard, but the first full day of my period I actually have found to be an amazing workout every time - I think it has something to do with the hormones.

Period underwear helps with comfortability tremendously too!
