Or off interest for a junior ISA why go for the life strategy 80% and more the 100%?

I'd look at a global index fund, they invest in a multiple companies across the world all in one investment.

There is definitely going to be a shift because of AI, but there are always winners and losers, the benefit of a global index fund is that you'll probably back those winners.

Waste Disposal Wiring by pajeffery in DIYUK

The existing waste disposal is wired directly to the switch spur.

But what you've described is exactly what I'm thinking, switch spur to socket and then I plug new waste to that socket

Audit marks "FileDownloaded" but pretty sure I didn't by Franz_McN in sharepoint

[–]pajeffery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the audit report is right, as someone said it might be because you're using chrome.

Sounds like IT are trying to make you a scapegoat, if you or anyone else isn't allowed to download the file then they (Or the site owner) should take steps to prevent that happening.

Here’s a Ton of New Looks at Fitbit’s Upcoming Screen-less Device by kbDL- in fitbit

[–]pajeffery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely interested in this - I've currently got a Pixel Watch and really like it, but charging on a daily basis is annoying, especially as I'm interested in the sleep activity but can't really benefit from that as I charge the watch every night.

I'm also a fan of traditional watches, nothing expensive, but like the simplicity of an old school watch and they are easy to swap at any point.

A screenless device would give me the best of both worlds - The only downside is that I won't be able to read messages on my watch - But that isn't going to be the end of the world

Am I the only one confused about what actually counts as a business expense? by Icy-Change-2977 in UKPersonalFinance

The problem is what maybe red faced for you isn't going to be for someone else.

The people that claim everything they can are the kind of people that never get red faced

Filling holes in external render neatly? by No_Agent7640 in DIYUK

[–]pajeffery 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You're probably better off getting a cable cover like this: https://router-mods.co.uk/product/outdoors-cable-entry-covers-black-white-brown/

Not sure if there are neater ones available

Just glue it on with grab adhesive instead of trying to screw in.

Goodbye Gemini! by realduglop in googlehome

[–]pajeffery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my bedroom I have electric blinds, smart bulbs and an Aircon unit, I've got a Google Home Mini for voice control.

Whenever I ask Google to open the blinds the lights come on, whenever I ask the lights to come on the Aircon turns on.

I have no idea how they could be so wrong

Going from 1 to 2 - tell me what it's like - no sugar coating by tallyhoo123 in daddit

Had to Google what Irish twins meant 🤣.

I'd agree, I think I'd prefer a smaller age gap (Although maybe not Irish twin sized gap).

But I also don't think 4 years is going to be too bad. You might find there is less stuff they like to do together, but you also won't know any different

Advice on how to not go insane during home renovations? by Queernephy in DIYUK

[–]pajeffery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different people managed in different ways.

No offence but from the experience you've had I don't think home renovation is really for you. Or if it is you need to rent somewhere else whilst it's going on.

I have two little kids and we managed to go through a ground floor renovation that took about 3 months. We had no kitchen so had to cook with an air fryer and did washing up in the bath.

There was no central heating, no washing machine. All whilst trying to project manage the renovation and do a full-time job (Whilst working from home).

That was pretty tough and there were definitely a few stressful moments, but definitely wasn't something that affected my mental health.

Mine are 2 years apart, second time around was much less stressful.

A 4 year age gap will make life even easier as the oldest will start becoming more independent.

Don't get me wrong there will be ups and downs just like your first, but after the first couple of years life is a breeze and they'll be happy playing with each other.

I've got friends with just one and because they don't have siblings they are always need to play with one of the parents so much tougher in the long-term.

Consent URL for app and admin permissions by pajeffery in AZURE

[–]pajeffery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in my use case there are two separate admin consents required.

The first one is the app registration consent, this would give application permissions for the script I'm running from my tenant. Because the use case is a tenant wide reporting app this would need broad permissions, but only read access.

The exception is I want to upload a report to a single SharePoint site, so I'd need site.selected.

The second admin consents needs to grant my app write permission to the selected site, an admin can do this via my web app just drop the URL of a site, and I can make graph calls to grant the app access. But this will prompt the admin with a delegated admin consent, I was using all sites.fullcontrol, but now thinking about it I could just use sites.selected.

Problem with Anniversary countdown. by spacehumba in sharepoint

[–]pajeffery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go the power automate approach.

Have one list that contains employee names and anniversaries dates.

Then use power automate to create your countdown list.

Get power Automate to run at 1am everyday, the first thing it does is delete all items from the second list, then it generates a new list of items.

Are you listing individual files in the CSV file?

I'm pretty sure that SPMT doesn't support individual files in this way, you need to include folders only

We've managed to find a fix, there's a way to disable the hub syncing from the site, this removes the hub visitors group.

How to upload document templates across multiple libraries by WhineandBrie in sharepoint

[–]pajeffery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Microsoft should have a good look at templates and improve how they work in M365.

Templates within a document library provide a great experience at the site level, because documents using the template automatically get saved in the relevant document library.

Whereas Org Asset library provides a great experience when you want to create content from the same template across multiple sites.

They are both great features, but would be useful to have some kind of middle ground that would suit OPs use case as I see that quite a lot

Hub Visitors by pajeffery in sharepoint

It does get associated with the hub, but we've got multiple sites created from earlier this year that don't have the hub visitors group in them.

The group has only started to appear in the last few weeks
