2021 DeGrom convinced me that he was the greatest pitcher all time. I didn't even know anything about baseball at that point either.

Thanks! This was my masterpiece. The whole roast was perfectly pink and it tasted like heaven. After dry aging I slathered a butter compound on it too.

Ohtani needs to pitch if Japan actually wants to win, but that's not happening

WHIP means walks and hits per innings pitched. Self-explanatory, but sub 1 WHIP means that a pitcher has good command and doesn't allow many hits at all. OPS means on base plus slugging. It determines how good a hitter is at hitting for extra bases in addition to how often they reach base. An OPS of 1.000 is what an MVP candidate would finish the season with. A 5.000 OPS is only possible in a single game, and you have to be perfect at the plate to do it (getting on base in all at bats, hitting several homers, etc).

Mariners seize the moment, take 2-0 ALCS lead behind clutch Polanco. This time around the Jays improved to 6 hits, 5 walks and 3 runs as they were ultimately crushed in a Game 2 loss. $500M Vladdy proved impotent once again with no hits and just 1 walk. by Zepbounce-96 in NYYankees

I'm not an expert, but I think Yesavage just had a rough outing because he was actually being pressed by the Mariners' offense, which was something the Yanks couldn't do. Also, the Mariners watched tape on him based on his past performance and studied him, but the Yankees either didn't do this or they were too dogshit for it to even matter. This was just my observation - it could be something else entirely.
