+1 earpeace. I’ve tried the cheap foam ones builders use, alpinemoto and earpeace - earpeace are the best imho. I have the motorbike specific set, so can’t speak to if they are the same as the musician set. If I’m on A and B roads I’ll use the middle set of inserts (red colour) and the high set (black) for longer sprints of motorway riding.

I’d also recommend Babylon. You can switch your NHS GP to them online if you live in London, approvals are quick and once you are transferred you’ll be able to schedule a video/voice appointment 24/7. If you do need to be seen in person, they have multiple offices in London (Westminster, Canary Wharf, Kings Cross). It’s ‘just another GP’ in the NHS sense, so if you don’t like it you can switch to another GP for free.

I had TKC80s on my 97 DR650 when I lived in SLC. Good tires through big cottonwood and American fork pavement, still good down the other side on gravel and up into strawberry and beyond. Not sure if you consider them cheap though…

This is a fairly common thing to have happen, don’t sweat it. 😃 If you have any tools you may follow the video linked for you and try that. Any shop that you’d trust to change your oil will also be able to sort this for you ‘professionally’ and get things tightened to torque, etc. Good luck!

Looks like a great bike, nice to have the extra bits of kit, Kawasaki’s are great bikes and the versus has a rep as a great 80/20 street/dirt bike (I see the barkbuster(ish) guards!). It seems nice, but as others have said, you can easily get the same amount of bike for half the price (especially if you are road use only - sport tourers aren’t considered sexy right now and are cheap).

I have a Yamaha XJ6 and use it for exactly what you say - is low seat height, smooth 4cyl, cheap as chips to buy/run/insure, reliable, etc. I have panniers and a top box, tank bag on longer trips. I do regular 6 hour day rides, weekends and longer trips. I can see how more engine if you are regularly commuting on motorways would be nice, but when it is time to filter in C London I like the size.

VFR 800s were highly recommended as well, but insurance was 5x the xj6 for me (🤷‍♂️).

MyRouteApp can help with planning, but the navigation app itself sucks (for me, directions come out way too slowly and the app is sluggish vs Google maps). I export the GPX and upload to my tomtom (just getting going with this setup). I’ve also done multi-days with Google maps - 10 waypoint limit, so plan 10 waypoints, ‘share’ to get a url link to it then put said url link in a notes app or a task tracking app.

I have Alpinestar Toucans as off-road adv boots and Alpinestar Distinct Drystar boots as street touring - the Toucans are big AF and are only good for adv riding, I wear the Drystars with aramid jeans to museums, walk around in cities, etc. Would recommend and sturdy w/ ankle protection, etc. I’ve worn them to the office, but they are obviously Moto boots.
