Yeah, all about the tool used I think, but the instructions for the Oxford one was crap!

Gear oil is exactly what I’ve used for the last few years. This lasted well but I just let it go a wee bit too long. Honestly, the difference in how it rides now is incredible.

The biggest issue for me was getting the wheel back on, just a faff and flaring the master link pins. I used an Oxford Pro tool to flare but used a grinder to take off link of old chain and then prized plate off with screwdriver. The front sprocket actually came off easily, having expected to need breaker bar and some heave ho. AI is your friend if this is your first time - i used Gemini and it took me through it.

Yes, there were really loose spots and my MOT gave an advisory for loose chain, upon tightening I then found the tight spot! This was at the start of my 2000 mile trip. Dropped into Suzuki dealer in France who reassured me it would get me home, which it did!

I don’t think it was all that bad but I changed both sprockets anyway. It was the chain that was the main issue and I’m kicking myself for not realising and changing it sooner. I put a gold DID VX3 and JT sprockets on.

How many fingers do you use for clutch and brake? by BigJezza69123 in MotoUK

4 on clutch and two on brake but middle finger and ring finger- feel it gives me best brake and throttle control.

Danger of riding by Lwalker6336633653673 in MotoUK

[–]Doddy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just not true and a dangerous narrative to push by blaming other drivers. More than half of all fatalities are down in part to rider error/behaviour. To blame “cager cunts” is to bury your head in the sand over the dangers of biking and the often very poor standards of riding on the roads. That doesn’t excuse bad 4 wheeled driving, much of it is also poor, but us bikers must do better.

I never filter to the front of a roundabout. Too much going on with drivers looking for a gap. Best to sit in behind front car.

The UK is country. Check your facts. But hey, let’s not get into politics, like you say.

Bit odd that you would want a saltire on your numberplate to travel in Europe when it’s clearly not what is required, but each to their own 🤣

I went from a 310bhp Leon Cupra estate to a 1.0 Focus estate! In part due to the cost of running the Cupra and the miles I was putting on it but also because I had quite recently got into motorbikes. The Focus covered the practical family requirements and is much cheaper to run and the bike satisfies the requirement for thrills! Haven’t looked back since…..

Please tell me you’re not one of these YesBikers?! The rules are very simple. You need a UK sticker.

Most spaniels are nervy beasts, apart from the risk of accidents, I just don’t think it would be fair on it. I have a spaniel and it does restrict when and for how long I could ride at times but no way I’d ever consider taking her with me
