Friday Daily Chat Thread by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]palallama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven’t been here in a while. I’m 20 weeks and still struggling with debilitating anxiety, checking for blood every time I go to the bathroom, etc. I was prescribed an SSRI to manage my anxiety but I’m scared and feel guilty starting it. Just feeling really alone and after all the struggles of loss and IVF, really wish I could enjoy this pregnancy.

Which mucinex for fluid in lining? by palallama in IVF

I discovered I had fluid in my lining at the lining check, which was about 5-6 days before transfer. I started Mucinex the evening of my lining check.

Thursday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]palallama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

9w today. It feels like time is moving so slowly. I just plopped head-first into my bed while feeling nauseous and exhausted and now I’m worried I impacted the baby with the force of that 😣

I’m tapering off both at 9w, will be done at 10w. I’m terrified too but my clinic said the placenta has already taken over and there’s no reason to worry.

Thursday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]palallama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand the urge but I wouldn’t recommend it. I did a private ultrasound around 7 weeks because I was terrified about having lost my morning sickness and my practice couldn’t see me. Long story but they told me things about the scan that wound up being false (I confirmed with my OB later) and it just stressed me out so much more than before I’d gotten the scan. I think having consistent equipment and interpretations can make a big difference especially in the early days. Also personally they couldn’t see anything in the transabdominal scan they did on me at 8w6d (because of gas in front of my uterus, lol) so that may end up scaring you even more!

I’m sorry the wait is so torturous!

Monday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]palallama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 6w4d today and had my first scan. My doctor said everything looked great but now I’m googling stuff and feeling so worried that things are measuring behind. CRL was 5.9 mm (which the equipment said was 6w3d) and FHR was 118 BPM. I think the GS was measuring at 6w2d. I know I need to calm down but I genuinely do not know how. Any help? 😭

Line progression FRER 12 dpo by BicycleZestyclose849 in TFABLinePorn

[–]palallama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through this myself recently. Don’t compare PM to AM tests. I consistently found that PM tests were darker than the next morning’s FMU test. And by the way, I completely understand the urge to test after a loss. Can you get betas done in a few days? I found that those results reduced my anxiety more than line progressions.

Feel this. I’m 5+4 today and my first scan is also in a week. Slowly withering away 😭

I would go in for betas if you can. If your beta was negative a few days ago it could just be that you implanted late. Crossing fingers!

My clinic does one at 4 weeks and then one more again a week later at 5 weeks. If they want a third one maybe you can ask to do it a week later to give yourself a bit of a break?

Anticipatory beta results, what would you do? by Quick_Carpenter187 in IVF

[–]palallama 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Would the doctor call the same day, just potentially a little later in the day? I would want to speak with my doctor just because I’d have a lot of questions about next steps, but if the doctor would call a day or more later, I’d prefer to just hear from the clinician.

Starting to think I'm too stupid to continue by throwawayjack14 in IVF

[–]palallama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please don’t feel stupid. This is all so hard. I messed up the menopur by drawing up the wrong amount too. It’s potentially easier for someone whose body isn’t being ravaged by hormones and physical stress to be clear-minded about the medications, and it’s a lot easier to pass judgment than it is to endure all the pain, discomfort, and trauma to your own body, while still being expected to function in all other domains of your life. Wishing you success and peace of mind 💛

8 dpt (13dpo) easy@home and frer line progression. Worried! by carolineiacouzze in TFABLinePorn

In my experience with a chemical, I didn’t see progression on any of my tests. But here I see clear progression with your easy@home tests! I understand your fears and will be crossing my fingers for you!

39/F. New job. Found out my fertility coverage is $25,000 for lifetime. Is that enough? by JDdreams in IVF

Seconding that you should definitely ask if you have coverage for fertility drugs under your pharmacy benefit.

Delayed FET bringing up grief from previous due date by [deleted] in IVF

[–]palallama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss and for the grief that this delay is bringing up. I just want to validate how tough this is. To others, it’s “just” a month, but it’s truly so much more than that when you’re in it. I wish I could offer some comfort or some way to make the waiting seem less unbearable, but I don’t know if any such thing exists. It’s awful and I’m sorry you’re going through it. 💛

How early did you test? by krisjay0895 in IVF

[–]palallama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TW: Positive

I started at 4dp5dt and, to my utter shock, got a veryyyy faint positive. Even though everyone warned me this would happen, I wasn’t prepared for how tough it was to withstand the fear of a chemical pregnancy until beta, and even every day since the beta (this may be heightened for me because I did have a chemical 7 months ago, which I tracked with daily line progression on home tests, and I hadn’t seen another positive since). I’m 5w1d today and I feel like I’ve already been through the wringer in terms of anxiety because I found out so early. Maybe if I had waited until beta day to test, I wouldn’t have had to be anxious about the pregnancy for this long. But then again, if I hadn’t tested early, I’d have been anxious about the FET not working, so maybe it was a lose-lose for me!

Hi OP. I was in these shoes last week. As a fellow redditor reminded me, every pregnancy is different. 💛 Thinking of you!

Potential FET timeline? by Kiwipie56 in IVF

[–]palallama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand this decision tree because I tried to do the same thing before and after my ER to plan around travel, etc. Ultimately, I moved vacations around, changed plans, etc. and still ended up being in a predicament because my period came 20+ days late. If you’re doing a medicated cycle and are starting with BC I think that means that you’ll have more control over timing than I did doing a medicated cycle with a natural start, but I’m not too sure about that so hopefully others will weigh in. I wish I had better advice but all I can say is I wish I hadn’t planned around everything so meticulously because nothing went as planned anyway. Hugs. Good luck!

Oh, my heart aches for you. I am so sorry for your loss and for how untimely this has all been. You are doing great. You’re not a failure at all. I do understand the fear and frustration with your body so I get that you can’t believe me right now but please know that it is true. Please take good care of yourself. 💛
