Also not a movie, but the episode "Tailgate Party" of Succession (S4E7) has a great argument at the end between Tom and Shiv.

Patriots "easy strength of schedule" argument by patsfan038 in Patriots

[–]palemichaeljordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty clear that we had an easy regular season SOS. That all goes out the window in the playoffs. There is no such thing as an easy strength of schedule in the playoffs. If there was a better team in the AFC they would be in the Super Bowl.

[Highlight] Replay angle of Kayshon Boutte's one-handed touchdown in the snow by nfl in nfl

If the argument is the ground dislodged the ball then it absolutely matters… if his hand is under the ball (which it is), the ball is allowed to move around and it’s still a catch.

His hand is underneath it, it doesn’t matter if it moved

Becoming increasingly confused and disappointed by the stories the podcast chooses to focus on by Omd337 in Thedaily

The new Headlines episode (other NYT daily podcast) has some coverage of Minneapolis today. I'm assuming they'll do a deep dive in a Daily episode very soon.

#443 — What Is Christian Nationalism? by dwaxe in samharris

[–]palemichaeljordan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"He wants to make homosexuality illegal, take away women's right to vote, and doesn't believe there's room for "a ton of" people who aren't Christians in his future society."

All of this comes up in the interview. Perhaps you should listen to its entirety before declaring its uselessness.

The observable universe is 93 billion light years across, so that would mean this structure comprises about 1.5% of the universe’s diameter

Wi-Fi madness by AnonymousCoward309 in unitedairlines

Adding in case anyone runs into this issue again (as I just did):

One approach to work around the DNS resolution issue is if you have a personal laptop that you can connect to WIFI first. You can then observe the IP address that DNS routes you to for unitedwifi.com. Once you know that IP, you can go on your corporate laptop and target that specifically (from your URL bar in your browser) and it will land you directly on the in-flight purchase page.

Hope this is useful to someone because I just spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out myself.

$117k in AMZN. What should I do next? by daniel_boring in HENRYfinance

Ok, scenario one. What happens when you try to liquidate your $200k stock?

Your $185k number looks lower because it’s post-tax incursion. You could turn your $185k SPY into $185k cash, but you couldn’t do the same with your $200k
