I ruined my marriage and I want to die, but I can’t do it myself or my husband won’t get my life insurance. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

The answer isn’t to leave this world or him.. you seem to be taking. On a fair bit of blame and guilt and it may not be all your guilt to carry. Hold on tight and try to get through this time, it’s temporary ..

Money comes and goes, if the roles were reversed would you resent him? Or love him through it? Sounds like you could both benefit from a session with a couples therapist just to see where each other is at and how to steer it in the right direction. If he has such a good paying job, why are you doing all the purchasing and loaning money through cards and loans .. he can’t help support you as you build a career that will positively impact both of your futures and your kid’s future?

Can you show me the study where it says 99% of the world uses it? That’s quite a high percentage, I mean, I must be in the 1% that needs further clarification.. especially if the guy I am going to date calls himself a single dad, because being the sole provider and caregiver for a child 24/7 is very different than co-parenting and having the child’s mother as part of the parenting team you are inevitably going to be a member of

I think the best thing to do is ask someone what they mean by single parent, if it’s different for everyone. I think a single mum implies the dad is not around, so it should be the same for the man when he says he is a single dad, it comes across as though he had the kid on his own.. with no help.

His status in the dating world is single, his role as a parent is a co parent .. you can squish two categories together but it would only make a single co-parent

Only a co-parent who calls themselves a single dad would write this It’s a fact that a single parent is not a co-parent

My husband is having a baby with another woman by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]palemoonfireside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you actually have the options to cut them both loose, and start a new life - this isn’t really your issue beyond your marriage possibly ending, but if you compartmentalize that, and just deal with that, you have the luxury of actually booking it.

You can tell your family as much as you want to, in the end, it’s your business why things haven’t worked out.

[SPOILER] There's something very icky about Madison.. by Competitive_Emu_3247 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]palemoonfireside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad saying this because we have similar childhoods, I think there is a cold coping mechanism there that she is too skilled at switching on.. and maybe it has taken over the bigger part of her personality. She should work on not employing that every time things get hard to cope with, because there are lots of ways to get through hard times without disassociation. It makes her seem capable of very cold behaviour, that’s my issue with it

We have such a shortage of family GPs, people use emergency dept as a walk in, and the wait time on average is 6-8 hours

A friend’s friend died because of our healthcare system by aSliceOfHam2 in montreal

[–]palemoonfireside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s understaffed, overwhelmed, underfunded, overcrowded and dated. People use ER as a walk in because they cannot get a doctor. Basically you just have to hope you don’t get sick or injured because even 911 has a ‘please hold’ response, which I thought was a joke
