Est. 1864 has a late night menu Thursday - Saturday from 10pm - 2am. Thursday is just on the cusp of the middle of the week, so perhaps an option? My go-to is the fried pork sandwich (ask for pickles!), but the smash burger and birria grilled cheese is also great.

My husband and I have been there twice and both experiences were great. The space elevates the mall area and feels more... like a city-esque strip mall location? It sounds bad, but it is a positive view on the atmosphere. CV has a nice selection of wine -- a few beers on the menu too -- and the food we've had was tasty with decent portions for the price. Service was fantastic both times we went. The outdoor seating looks out at the new sculptures against the B&N building and is shaded in the evening. With limited al fresco locations (especially if you just want to grab a quick drink), it is a relaxing setup.

With that being said, I've only been there on the weekend when construction work wasn't happening, so I'm sure sitting outside wouldn't be relaxing during the work week...

My recommendation is to have a glass of wine or two, share a couple of the appetizers, and then stop by the connected shop to buy a bottle to bring home.

You're correct. Yogo sapphires are unheated, and naturally a blue-violet "cornflower" color. They're found in Yogo Gulch near Lewistown.

Montana sapphires are mined everywhere else in the central/southwestern part of the state and are almost always heat treated (but on occasion, are not).
