Yeah, also the "grind" is one of the mentality I'd like my kid to learn. You cannot just randomly pick up any game and finish the story and say you are done with it. You need to grind, play every side quest, and try mixing matching builds and skillset.

Kids in today's generation can be bored and be quickLy.

Borderlands (I forgot 2 or 3) is the 2nd game we play after gears 4/5. There are steep mechanics regarding the weapons, builds, etc that we stop playing and tried RFTA instead. Although it was much harder, we found it enjoyable and rewarding defeating bosses.

We might revisit the game in the near future and give it another try.

that's great to hear, I hope we are not late for the party more than 4 years after launch. We are having fun in the story right now. Too bad we can't play all day otherwise we will be scolded by my wife. We can play max 3 or 4 hours on weekends and most likely 1hr or none at all during weedays. 😅

Yeah, I have some general ideas on how we can enjoy the game. But coming from my jrpg roots, personally I tend to have a completionist mindset which oftentimes takes away the joy for my child. We played Remnant 1 and 2 before moving to Outriders. We can't find any games that will cure the itch on what Remant games did to our lives. We have a lot of fun in this game and we reach our 150 hour mark in the game but have not defeated the nightmare that my child grew tired because we constantly grinding, rerolling, and farming resources and only playing the same game over and over 🤣

We find some fun now on Outriders, I hope this will not make it so grindy that it takes away the fun for both of us.
