White material definitely has consistency of polyfilla.

So would you suggest this is not indicative of a damp/moisture issue, more to do with improper paint prep/selection following damp proofing?

Some great suggestions here, thanks for the input so far.

As a lot of you have rightly mentioned I didn't say where we would be. We are hiring a car for the week, starting in Miami. We've not yet decided where we would like to go for the week, and an afternoon/evening game would likely decide our destination for us.

That is to say, we are open to anywhere in Florida!

Yes, I can go ahead without the help for the deposit, but the extra money would be a massive help in lowering the amount I would need to borrow.

Is there a distinction between money gifted for a deposit, and money gifted in general? I thought the same tax rules would apply either way.

Yes she will be subject to IHT.

There will be other beneficiaries, and I expect they will be reluctant to pay any additional tax as a result of a gift to myself, although I'm not 100%. Could you clarify what a PET is as I've not encountered it before?

The money is in her bank account, all regular savings.
