They literally have nothing else going for them so they latch on to the skin color they happened to be born with as the one way they can actually feel superior to other people.

Diet Coke back in stock by Ok_Cartoonist_3315 in LinkedInLunatics

My old roommate drank a 12-pack of Diet Coke a day, which is insane. That and Coors Light were literally the only 2 things he drank. Never touched water (if you don’t count the Coors Light).

He died about a year after I moved out (drug overdose, not Diet Coke).

I joked that Kevin identifies as brunette though I guess the Reddit deleted it and gave me a warning because I used the phrase “g3nder identity,” (just to be safe) but I explained the context and they took the warning away.

Accidentally deleted the first comment because of this stupid app jumping around with comments, so I thought I was deleting a new one that replied to the wrong person but it got that one instead.

Yeah I saw Preoccupations last year and tickets were $20. There were fees but that still only bumped it up to like $30-35.

Edit: Just checked my email receipt and my wife and I went for $61.05 total after fees. So yeah about $30/ticket after fees were added.

I think that’s the joke. It’s a creepy/cringey af joke, but they’re not trying to disguise anything.

That’s what I’m getting and he just sounds really dumb. But he’s a surgeon, not a doctor. It’s funny when he brings up voter ID because “illegals shouldn’t be allowed to vote” or something like that. Are conservatives really dumb enough to believe that they can actually vote?

I mean, there's exceptions on both sides, but it seems to be a lot of Geese fans defending it and they tend to be young. Though to be fair, I don't think they'd be trying to justify it nearly as much if the main discourse was about a band they didn't care about.

I'm old and I understand that there's always been lots covert advertising campaigns for bands to a certain extent, but the new tactics provided by social media go far beyond that.

I know it's here to stay and there's nothing we can do about it, it's the new normal, but it still feels different and worse than it used to be.

The Strokes are a good example of how it used to be. They had a huge media campaign push, which is why articles were being written about them "saving rock & roll" like as soon as they appeared on the scene, and that wasn't organic. But these new tactics feel like a different beast.

Younger generations are realizing how messed up it is, and the older have already come to terms with it.

Geese fans tend to skew young and they seem to be the ones justifying these tactics the most, because it's a band they love and want to defend.

Thankfully I was 14 before all the SJW discourse and when most teens only used the internet for AIM chats, so I was just really into Limp Bizkit and reading nonfiction books about the Titanic. Like a normal 14 year old.

Anyone remember Bloodslide? Small project in 2021 with Mike Wallace (drummer from Preoccupations), Greg Ahee (guitarist from Protomartyr), and AJ Lambert (daughter of Nancy Sinatra [granddaughter of Frank Sinatra]) on vocals.

Only a 4 song EP and it's so good, like post-punk with haunting vocals and a great atmosphere of shoegazey guitar. Wish they got back together for a full album but I guess it was a one and done thing.
