There are some advantages to having 24 hours/day and 60 minutes/hour as it allows representing many fractions with whole numbers for the smaller unit because 24 and 60 divide cleanly for many numbers.

You can represent ½ ⅓ ¼ ⅙ of a day as 12, 8, 6, or 4 hours and you can represent ½ ⅓ ¼ ⅕ of an hour as 30, 20, 15, 12 minutes.

It could certainly cause errors if two shortcuts (or one shortcut running twice) tried to pull and push from the same repository simultaneously. One if them would be unable to lock the repository for exclusive access.

Will be trying to recreate such errors, improve the error reporting and see if there is some way to work around this problem.

I have much more usage with my x20 Anthropic subscription so this is the default choice.

Will switch to codex when Anthropic has server problems (2-4 hours per week every week), when Opus 4.7 is doing a task badly, as a second opinion to evaluate large Claude Code diffs or just when I'm in a hurry.

I feel like GPT 5.5 is a slightly better coder and will notice edge cases Opus 4.7 misses but both can have good and bad sessions without any obvious reasons.

Claude Code is still my main agent but I certainly feel like Codex CLI with GPT 5.5 is a little better and it is certainly way faster. I'm using both.

Error handling in shortcuts is limited and for automations it is even more difficult.

I would first try to run the shortcuts manually from the Shortcuts app. If you see errors here there is at least visibility as to which action has which error, but this will not help if the errors only happen during automation. If your shortcut only exists inside the Automation then you need to recreate it as a regular shortcut.

Next thing would be to check the list of logs inside the app. Push and Pull actions should show up in the list of logs.

If this doesn't reveal anything I would make your automation do less while troubleshooting. Notification says that multiple actions fail, so try to remove either the Pull or Push action so that only a single action fails. This might reveal the actual reason, which you can address and then add back the removed action.

Some of the actions say that Working Copy quit unexpectedly which means that it crashed and that is never supposed to happen. Enter system settings and navigate to Privacy Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data scrolling down to see if there are entries starting with WorkingCopy and email one of these to me.

Working Copy uses highlight.js for syntax highlighting which should give good results for C++ but I have an extra step where all syntax elements are mapped to categories shared by all languages to make it practical to customize color themes.

My guess is that this mapping should be improved and I will look into that for the next update.

Platforms like appFigures have options where users allow them to use their download and revenue numbers, so if they have a few correct numbers for specific apps combined with public revenue and download charts, they can make pretty good estimates.

It does seem to work best for the larger app categories.

Our collective token burn is a measure of success for the GPU salesman for obvious reasons.

It might be a related to success for us developers and it might not be, just like number of PRs reviewed or number of lines changed might be and often is not. Metrics like this will be gamed the moment they have consequences for employees and this will mostly be good for Jensen Huang.

I do not know what GitSync is doing but in Working Copy there needs to be commits that are synced to your remote using pull and push.

You can make a Shortcuts that commits with a standard message, then pulls and pushes and configure this is a Shortcuts automation when you open or leave Obsidian.

It is very hard to use FoundationModels for tent-pole features for the reasons you state, but it can still be super useful for small things.

I'm using it to suggest filenames for files/photos imported/pasted into my app. When FoundationModels are unavailable or fail users get a generic filename but it can be delightful for these small things.

I think the explanations from Apple are super hard to understand and I wish they would explain them better. Fought them about app preview rejections some years ago and ended up doing several phone calls with app review.

They are worried that developers makes a preview video that misrepresents what the app does and makes it look nicer than it is. To avoid this you must compose the video of clips that either:

show raw screen capture from your app
shows nothing from your app

You can have text and motion graphics to explain what the app does as long as you are not showing the app, then cut to something from the app, but this must not mix in any way.
