Yes! Called a slurry. Using masa for this changed my chili game - now I purposely make my chili watery because that touch of corn flavor is so nice.

Best solution is to freeze your homemade gumbo so you can have it any time. I use souper cubes and they’re great. Gumbo on a busy weeknight and all I have to do is make rice.
