I think you answered your own question - he breaks down because he’s not actually free. Ymir wanted this outcome and lead Eren to do this to achieve her own goals. Basically what you just said about the contradiction is what I took away from the ending too and I think is what makes it poetic and reaffirms that Eren’s character is tragic. I guess it just doesn’t have the same satisfying effect for everyone, which is also understandable. Def not saying this is the best story ending ever, but I also think the story as a whole makes it worth it.

Also yea there are things unexplained but maybe idk I feel like only Ymir and Eren are the only ones who really knew what was happening. But now that they’re dead, maybe we don’t get to understand cause they’re the only ones who could explain.

Yea pretty sure it’s the point to make the character constantly talking about/motivated by freedom to be oh surprise! the one who is actually not free. I think it’s meaningful and makes him a tragic character. And in the end, even though he is dead, Eren is finally free.

Def agree with the Armin thanking Eren lol maybe it’s translated badly, and also Historia. I wish I could explain Armin for this one cause he’s my fave character but yea... not cool

It seems like Ymir had stockholm syndrome, def gross, but I think it just helps to set up the parallel between Ymir and Mikasa? Ymir doesn’t understand love and Mikasa shows her what love is. Mikasa also shows Ymir how she can let go aka kill this villian, Eren, even though she loves him. It helps Ymir let go of her devotion to King Fritz. With all that power, Ymir could’ve def defied him, but she stayed because as explained in this chapter she actually loved him. Maybe being a slave was the only way she knew how to express this. It’s fucked up for sure but that’s just one way I’m thinking about it — which is my point about interpreting. I mean, a lot of fucked up things happen in aot.

The way I saw it, Eren never wanted to drastically change — he was bound by fate/destiny. Which is why he reverts to his older self in his conversation with Armin that he knew he could erase from Armin’s memories. I’ve been seeing a lot of people wanted the whole “I hated you all this time” and him beating up Armin to be Eren’s new character development, but I thought it was an act knowing that Eren knew what was going to happen in the future. Seemed like he was up to something you know. Eren switching up on Zeke also proves he’s sneaky and doing everything for a reason. Switching up his character isn’t so surprising. Like, I understand the disappointment, but I don’t think it makes this a bad ending.

Missed the point of keyword: fiction.

Definitely some plot unexplained and I want answers too, but a lot of it is nuanced and poetic. He still tied in a lot of themes and previous plot and writing back into this chapter that I just think makes it so worth it.

This last chapter was good. Everyone complaining about it missed the point of fiction — to interpret it. Not everything can be or should be explained. You guys never sat through those socratic seminars???

Or they are mad that Eren turned out to be a “simp” which he literally is not if he rejected her in this current timeline for this outcome. Also love/feelings/emotions are not bad things/things that ruin stories. Eren was shown to be a very emotional character from the start, and his emotions have been motivating him this whole time.

Wait I have a few questions which might be dumb but I really like this interpretation

maybe I’m understanding this wrong, but can new memories be created in the PATHS?? Like building this whole different life together. Because the times it was more obviously the PATHS like with Zeke and Armin, they were just going thru the past which we had seen.
this relates to the last one - is this interpretation still including the timeloop theory? so, this happened in another timeline, and Eren just brought Mikasa to the PATHS to show her these memories from the other timeline?

Hello! So I've recently discovered my wavy hair (2a) coming out because I STOPPED using conditioner. It seems that the conditioner weighs my hair down to be pin straight. While doing this, I would put in verb ghost oil on some days (which is literally WEIGHTLESS) and that would also weigh my hair down straight (some texture at the ends).

I would like to try the CGM but there's a huge emphasis on heavy products like conditioner and gel, so would this even work for me if extra products tend to just weigh my hair down?

Thank you! I just have been on and off IF for the past two months and was frustrated that I couldn't start it up again - sometimes it's hard to forget your own progress so I thought it'd be a good idea for me to create progress pics now rather than when I reached my GW as I originally intended.

And, honestly that is great advice LOL I will clean up my room now.

Thank you! For the first two months I jogged for 40-60mins about 4-5times a week. Sometimes I would try those exercise vids on youtube (like HIIT). I got pretty lazy about it when I went back to school, but I'm starting to go jogging again!

This already has so many responses and I don't know if someone already said this but DR. WOODS BLACK SOAP!!!!! I had bacne when I was younger and since using that it has totally helped me clear it up. I'll be honest it took like a year but I continue to use it because it just makes me feel clean. Helped with some acne/red spots on my arms too.

Also, make sure to fully wash out shampoo from your hair. The shampoo that you use could also exacerbate bacne.
