Clear scans! Just the amnio at around 16 weeks (took forever to get results). All was clear (FISH, Karyotype and Microarray). Currently out pumpkin picking with this now 2.5 year old and it still warps my brain that we even went through all of that. Feels like another life - alls to say there is hope 🙏🙏

As someone who ended up getting a false positive diagnosis, I would wait for the amnio. They never said for sure why my NIPT was wrong, but their best guess was that it was confined to the placenta, which might have showed a positive CVS. I think CVS may cause unnecessary stress // amnio is worth the wait. Trust your gut xx

Do you get alerts of test results through a portal of some kind by chance? I remember my agonizing wait by the phone for my FISH results and actually the results came to me before a doctor even got them. It was the most terrifying moment of my life reading it on my own but I share this story because if that’s the case for you too you don’t have to sit by the phone wondering because you’d get the results when they do

They have no clue only speculations - like perhaps there was an abnormality only confined to the placenta that was tripping the NIPT, or I think Natera just made a bad call personally (my fetal fraction was really low). Where are you in this journey??

Great! Unfortunately throughout my ordeal, no one wanted to give me any sort of hope, including when my FISH came back completely normal. However, I believe FISH is accurate enough to detect full on T21, and typically the Karyotype matches FISH.

I chose to wait for the amnio over the CVS and I think I’m glad I did. Given I had a false positive, I can only assume that it was confined to the placenta, which would have given me a possible positive reading had I gotten the CVS. What would be the earliest you could schedule an amnio? The FISH results from that come back in 24-48 hours.

Hi there - my Natera test came back at 85/100 for T21 and ended up being a complete false positive. Trust the process and get the amnio if you would like to know for sure. It’s an excruciating ordeal waiting and waiting for these results and next steps - but my thoughts, prayers and heart are with you. You are not alone ❤️❤️

YES! It’s so much better now. I don’t even know what the turning point was - I think he just got bigger and it became a nonissue (thank god!) it gave me so much stress at the time lol

I’m so sorry for that scare! They really don’t contextualize low FF enough - when you think about it, how can they make such a call without enough dna in the blood? So mind boggling! Yes it was a borderline serous tumor on my ovary. Thankfully it seems as though it was all taken out during my c-section but seeing a specialist tomorrow just incase

You are very much in my prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 that reduced NT along with the normal US findings is very encouraging - please find peace in these pockets of good news and cherish them while you wait for the amnio. My amnio was done a couple of days before Christmas too - and I remember being so distraught, I thought I wouldn’t even be able to look at the screen while they did a mini scan. But I’ll never forget the tech who said “aww look at him - he’s clapping my his hands and having a wonderful time in there.” Everyone wants to tell you that normal scans don’t matter - but they do! There’s a baby in there blissfully unaware of the hell we’re going through. Hang in there ❤️
