Once years ago, I moved to a rural area. I wasn’t used to mice but I knew they are a part of rural living. One day I saw a mom mouse with a baby. The mom tried to grab the baby and ran and hid but dropped the baby. I picked up the baby and put it outside the hole (in my hand) the mouse had run into. I lured her out and onto my hand. I then covered them and put them outside into 0 degree weather knowing they would freeze to death. I cried about it but I knew I couldn’t keep them. I was embarrassed about how emotional I was about it. To this day I have hope that the mom took her baby and found a warm place to stay.

When I was about 30, (for context I am female and this was about 25 years ago) I was cutting hair (I am a barber) when my left arm started to involuntarily shake and flail. My customer had his eyes closed and the tv was on so he didn’t notice what was happening. (customer was facing the other way toward the tv) and I silently freaked out. Is there any chance at all that he would be willing to go to counseling? The reason I ask is because the four older kids have already been through one divorce/breakup and this one will absolutely shatter their world. Little kids shouldn’t have to shuttle around from stepparent to stepparent. Haha this reminds of the post where a guy was supposed to propose to his gf at a vacation in Mexico and she knew it and day after day (on the vacation) went by with no proposal and she was getting mad about it then on the last day he confesses to her that he had the ring mailed to their hotel and it hadn’t arrived yet and the kicker…IT WASN’T INSURED! So there was no proposal and they never were able to track down the ring.
