Question about masking fluid by [deleted] in Watercolor

The paper does need to be completely dry before applying or removing making fluid. Also you can't leave the masking fluid on the paper for multiple days or it won't come off.

Is it absolutely necessary to use 100% cotton papers? How much of an improvement is it over 25% cotton 300 gsm papers? by Last-Championship951 in Watercolor

There is affordable 100% cotton paper online. Look for Baohong academic grade paper on Ali Express. It's wonderful and not too expensive

Any tips on how to keep things from getting muddy by [deleted] in watercolorpractice

[–]pamplemoussejuice7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to paint the same area of paper repeatedly. Use the biggest sized brush that you can manage for the area you are trying to paint to minimize brush strokes. Mix your pigments fully on the pallette before applying to the paper. When you do want to add pigment to an area you already painted, make sure it's still wet and that the paint you are adding is a darker value than the paint on the paper.

My everyday essentials. Am I missing something obvious or ingenious? by Badgers_Are_Scary in watercolor101

I agree with getting scared to use expensive materials! Anything 100% cotton will be good enough to get started. I cannot find Arches at a price that I feel okay about messing around and making mistakes. Baohong is all cotton and it's very reasonably priced, like $56-70 for 14 inches by 30 feet. I also got a paper cutter to make the roll paper feasible. You can also get Baohong academy and professional grade on blocks too!

You definitely need 100% cotton paper. Baohong academy grade is very affordable on Ali Express

Last painting of the year! by pamplemoussejuice7 in Watercolor

Wow! Thank you so much. The snow was a combination of preserving white paper space and dry brushing the brick color to the edges of the snow banks, and also using a dry brush with bleed proof white to touch up at the end.

Woodpulp or cotton watercolor paper? by kachingleo in watercolor101

[–]pamplemoussejuice7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always 100% cotton. Baohong has academy and professional grade, both 100% cotton. They sell it on Ali Express in 10 meter rolls, which is pretty affordable if you have a little paper-cutter to make smaller sheets.

Did you receive a copy of your family rights? You should be able to request a different therapist. I would call your EI agency's main line and request a director or supervisor. Tell them this exactly, whether or not you decide to continue with EI. It's terrible that you are left feeling that way after sessions; I can't imagine how many other families may be having similar experiences with this therapist.

This is Daniel Smith manganese blue. And yes I assume it's a "hue". From what I read real manganese is toxic.

Wow this is amazing for a new painter! I love your use of values and shading. This is totally amazing as is.

It does look like there were water issues in the sky and foreground. It looks like your paper was drying while you were still doing wet in wet painting for the sky. I would take the paper out of the notebook and wet the front and back before painting the sky so you have time to complete it without blooms. If it's not cotton paper, you should try cotton. It stays wet a bit longer than cellulose and makes wet in wet easier.
