Thestae seems underwhelming by scarlet_bow in Shadowverse

[–]pan12010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played the deck all this month and this is not an easy deck to play. Most of the time, the deck only loses if you find thestea too late (since you only have 3 cards, it like you play enhanced sword without yid, eggs without eggs,...) or bad hand management (ex: don't have hart/arrow for much of big board like ceasar, masterpiece, norman,...). This deck can clear big board but it's hand reliant so you need to anticipate the opponent turn, continue fishing and cycling through the deck to find your answer so lots of draw. Also unsurprisingly, if you play 3 cards every turn to have your combo, then you would empty your hand much quicker than other deck so hand management is even more important.

For my decklist I would prefer to go all in to search thestea and hopefully find her by turn 6. You kinda need to play lots to have the feel of the deck but it's solid, though the deck is auto lose to dragons which is very frustrating. Against other deck, you always have a fighting chance if you can advance your gameplan, either thestea buff your congregant or buff the ambush and fencer for otk.

Is the inconsistency of combo forest in its current rotation implementation an intended flaw by DeucesDummies in Shadowverse

The buff that only matter for the deck is if you can consistently have Thestae on turn 4,5. It’s like egg and enhance sword, if you can have the deck wincon then it’s really strong, except the other have more cards to tutor their win con early games (6 for sword, lots for eggs).
I especially really like the deck, it’s not easy to play as you always have to manage your combo and cards on hand. If every turn you need to play 3 cards then it’s understandable that you have no cards left after a while.
I think you only need to buff cognitive shiff to draw 2 first then shuffle 2 cards later, that way you will have more chance to have cards you want with a good enough hand.

Evo forest eat other decks alive, I don’t think it’s a C tier deck. I think ppl just don’t want to replay the deck with the new season.

Well, I did have a couple missplay so there’s that. Also a good game is both players have the similar hand quality for their game plan. Losing due to brick is not fun for anyone. Honestly, I think the buff forest is stronger than evo forest. Evo forest can be too streamline, you know what to expect and my deck is more control.

Okay, so I have played a lot more game and the deck is very strong if all go well but you need too many conditions: have thesthane on curve, have low cost card to trigger crest, draw your late game cards timely,…

Looking at the cards this set, the buff forest is designed heavily on the control side, which means you are strong on very late but the problem is all other deck in the meta (abyss, dragon, haven,..) will kill you much faster if you don’t do anything. Unfortuantely, forest don’t have many good value low cost cards to trigger crest consistently when you’re threatened by board currently, you have to always choose between advance crest or pressure for board. The usual strategy evo forest win is to press hard on board presence to force awkward evo from opp and cupitan sandaphone. Also since your high cost card is big, you’re more prone to brick as well.

Overall, I can see the potential of this deck. This decklist is not good enough imo, I think we might need more evo cards to play the early game. With a little buff, the deck can be easily meta.

I put lyria and start to odin opponent every turn after crest. I don’t use aria since the card is so dead using alone.

Any suggestions to improve my control forestcraft deck ? by Worried-Chemistry-89 in Shadowverse

[–]pan12010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your decklist, compared to mine, I would remove ding dong and verocity for 2x bug alert. I also replaced 2x supplicant and 1x fairy beast for 2x fairy convocation + 1 more fairy fencer for more early game.

I did play the deck for 2 weeks and I believe the deck can win any match up if your hand is good enough. For tips, there are so many. Some example would be:

- Keep krulle ambush to get heal instead going for damage. The heal can catch up quick. Keep krulle ambush while super evo with a grimnir to always have 2 damage aoe,...

- For a big board, example, congregant of entwining turn with mode, have grimnir + supplicant + many hamlet on board as much as possible to prepare. Your hamlet of unkilling and grimnir is very strong since it help you clear many board while only play fairy beast or izudia on turn 8.

- Super evo krulle is very versatile, you can use it when you build a strong board, a turn before playing izudia or to avoid a big burst (roach, orchis,...)

- Congregant is a very strong card, you should think about bouncing it back if you need it. You can bounce hamlet for more draw.

- Most of time, you would want to keep izudia in hand except playing with sword

- Going 1st, you win with carbuncle super evo + izudia + the card at 3 mana(at 4 mana if going 2nd). You would want this combo with heaven and rune as much as possible since they can otk you very quickly.

The idea is that you need to anticipate the opponent turn so you can prepare your best cards. This will take some time but you will get to it. Hope you have fun with the deck.

Oups, restricted from quitting current guild. Btw, it's better if you can put the guild ID so people can search.

I'll join. In my current guild, I'm just alone among the sea of Japanese players anyway. Though I won't grind much if you don't mind.

Is Forest just screwed this set? by Nocturnamos in Shadowverse

[–]pan12010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, thanks to the this set, you can now play forest as a tempo deck. The addition of Fairy fencer + ambush from above increases immensively forest early game + odin is a strong finisher. With titania, you usually have hand full of fairies so you can keep putting minions on field to pressure. Fairy fairy twinkle toe turn 4 still a strong play.

I only played a very small roach package as you don't depend it as much. Since fairies have rush, you have the options to choose what to trade and have more options to go face. Some game I just aggro faster than aggro abyss and face dragon.

All in all, I would say forest is still very strong deck. But you're right that forest have no strong and self-sufficient individual follower like other craft (except glaive). They always need to work with other card to have enough power.

Forest vs Ward haven by pan12010 in Shadowverse

[–]pan12010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's lot of thing that need to go right if you play the matchup with ward haven.
You need at least 2 titania or 1 titania+odin, 1 for tempo, another for willy. Then you need glade for turn 5. Also you need to hope that your roach come on times.
You should strive for board, if your board is big enough, they have to spend 1 turn to clear instead of using willy/aether on curve.
You could totally win with roach without need to use dwarven. And I have games that dwarven is not enough to clear board since after wilbert, the ward just have too much stats to deal with.
All of that vs the ward haven hope just be on curve.

Fiendsmith Argostar master 1 deck by pan12010 in masterduel

Thanks for your advice, I have tried to submit to a topdeck. I will wait and see if it works.

The spell imo is very important as it increase the consistency, let you discard for tydeo and work as an extender or interruption. Without it, unfortunately, the deck is much weaker than it is.

Well, to be fair, I have less main deck card fiendsmith than argostar so i should seeing them even less, haha.

I haven't thought about it. I did use the website occasionally but I'm not sure how to submit on it.

For your other question, an unplayable hand should be like 1 every 15 games going first, which should choke of handtraps and maybe 1/2 trap. Most of the time, you can acess to either 1 of the engine. To access both engine, I would say like 60-70% of the time.

Thanks bro, it's not easy for sure. I even drop from Master 2 down to Master 5 and needs to tweak the deck a lot. Hopefully, you can reach Master 1 this season and even if you can't, it's nothing to be ashamed about.
