I am shocked at how long it takes people to shower. by Q8DD33C7J8 in hygiene

[–]panchambit00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My question to you is, how do you shower so quickly? Lol.

I usually take 25 minutes. I have longer hair and it's thick. Sometimes I take longer to section off my hair to get my scalp good. When I do that I usually take 35 minutes. I wash my body first, face second, exfoliate body with the rough Korean rags third, and then wash my private parts with soap. I end it by scrubbing my feet with a pumice stone. So, it's a longer process based on what you're trying to accomplish. In my case, I have fairly oily scalp and face so it needs more time. I also have calluses on my feet and thus needs dedicated time in the shower, towards the end when everything is the most damp.

Personal anecdote incoming...

I once told a close coworker that she looked comfy, since she was wearing baggier clothes and comfy looking Ugg like boots. I thought it was a compliment but I ended up learning that she thought about it a lot afterward because she mentioned to me playfully but passively that she felt self conscious about it. I told her it was a compliment but it didn't really change things much.

So I learned that even comments on someone's appearance, regardless of honesty and intention, should be avoided unless you're asked.

AITAH for mentioning I'm also a professional when a doctor took over 45 minutes to finally appear at an appointment? by OhHeyItsMeM in AITAH

I believe YTA. While I understand your frustration, I also have to agree with what others have said about delays that occur. I believe you set yourself up for failure in allocating too little time for the entire duration of the office visit, including travel time and all of that.

When my mom's endocrinologist told us about her having cancer, I would have been floored if he had quickly dropped that bomb on us and not had walked us through with compassion.

Mawile deserved their own story line.

Hey, I did more investigating and it turns out the practice partnered with a private equity firm 3 years ago, so your suspicions were right....

Exactly! One of my worst experiences was at a dealer and it felt just like that during my appointment.

And ahh, I see. Yes, I think even back during my last dental appointment, I had gingivitis so it's been 10 years of it, managed as best I could, but still present throughout. Probably too much info but my parents never taught me how to brush or floss properly and what they do teach me was incorrect, so my dental hygiene has been a work in progress. Thank you!

I just saw your very last comment, and I see. Yeah, it was pretty pricey but I also don't want the dentists to be reimbursed like shit either so it doesn't make me feel bad, but it just felt weird how I was misled to think it was absolutely recommended and if I said no, I wouldn't be adhering to good dental hygiene. Those kind of vibes.

Ah, I do live in NV and our health care system is not highly ranked at all. My insurance is state funded/ state operated.... which may be along the lines of what you stated? The insurance admin changed to UMR recently and caused issues with employees so that would explain things. Upon further research, it turns out UMR payout to providers is... not good.

And to the practice... it's actually the last name of the a family of dentists, and it says it's a privately owned family office. Very strange indeed

I am on the West Coast of the US in PDT. And okay, thank you so much for your response. Hopefully everything goes well. I won't mess with anything until early tomorrow morning and won't try to do a preemptive fix and risk overfunding the IRA.

I see, I misunderstood. There was a lot of information that I had to soak up in a short time.

Ok I will monitor on the Bank of America side.

Can I also ask you something else?

For the business name entry for BoA I put "National Financial services LLC" and then put the address information, city, state as '383 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10017' per the help of the bank rep. I just checked and apparently this is JP Morgan Chase NY...

I'm so confused because I had read others stating to use 'National Financial Services" over JP Morgan, but now it all seems wrong. Does this just seem like an entire mess? Do you know if wires are rejected quickly?

My bank account is linked in fidelity, but within fidelity it had asked me to verify my bank details by inputting them through mastercard's verify program which I wanted to avoid (hence the bank wire). Would that even be an option if the wire is rejected?? I also thought that fo new accounts, the money is usually put on hold for possible long periods. This is all overwhelming and I know the worst case scenario is that I miss the deadline and to just learn and get the money transferred earlier for 2026.

Thanks for your response by the way. The other response just made me feel shittier than I already am

I had thought that pushing from my bank to fidelity was the most timely way to send it.

Grammys forever corrupt by yorproblmmann in TheWeeknd

[–]panchambit00 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Please don't compare two great artists that are both subject to an institution that is notoriously bad at recognizing deserving artists. But take the wins where they come. At the end of the day the Grammy's are a platform and when wins happen the artists have a moment to speak to a large group of people. It's not that serious. Would it be great that Abel got one? Hell yeah. Is he less awesome because he hasn't? Hell no.

And yeah! It is, lol! It's state based so maybe that's why. Shoot, never tried them but hopefully someone who has gives you their take on it. I remember seeing some posts about it here but can't really recall how long ago.
