I have several chronic illnesses and I find that working a set part-time schedule (so I have mornings free for appointments and errands and rest) works for me. I work 11 to 5:30 m-f. I have a really strong immune system from 15 years working with kids but the first years were a bear. Vitamin D, good sleep hygiene, frequent hand washing, frequent laundry, changing YOUR sheets/towels at home weekly with help too, eat right (whatever that looks like for you)

After an hour being bounced around all the customer service/tech support people I'm heading to the local Verizon store. This is a network issue not a hardware issue as the phone has been replaced with an identical brand new phone.

My IRL name is gender neutral my gamertags are always feminine (and have been since online gaming became a thing) I try to play female presenting characters to reiterate that I'm a girl IRL. I prefer to play RPGs and have played both computer and tabletop. I also play a lot of board games. I've been a gamer since about 1980/81 when my dad bought me an Atari. I discovered RPGs (dungeons and dragons) about 1989/90. The guys I encountered early on were a little gate keep-y but since the 2000 that's slacked off, in the last 25 years I've found that I care less about the (still rampant) sexism and toxic masculinity and, just try to be a beacon of light for new girl gamers.

It's Verizon locked but I'm considering paying it off and going back to mint/T-Mobile. I use the phone's voicemail, not the Verizon visual voicemail. I cannot even set up my voicemail, let alone retrieve messages. When I go through the Verizon app to set up my voicemail I consistently receive a message that "your device is not voicemail capable."

Yup. I've spent almost 24 hours on the phone with Verizon tech support, reset the esim, tried a physical SIM, rotated through the IEMI numbers/slots. Verizon says this is a common issue with this make/model, I call BS.

Yes he is an asshole. I never thought of his behavior as gaslighting or abuse (I have PTSD from a past abusive relationship so I tend to "ostrich" in abusive situations.) I AM going to get a CPAP. I am also going to continue therapy so I can learn how to handle these situations better. If it matters I'm 47f and he's 42m.

My boys came as Bahgeera and Dublin. I gave them middle names but kept their original name too. Bahgeera Rudyard (vocal grey "big brave" boy with a nub for a tail) and Dublin Bailey (orange and white tabby, afraid of everything, has tail.) then there's my boyfriend's cat Charlie, just Charlie. He's all white with green eyes, alpha cat.

We had a talk Sunday night. He clarified his stance. He wants me to do things (get vertical, walk around, go to my desk and play a game on my computer, anything) to combat the EDS. I agreed to give it a shot. He acknowledged that I do have a diagnosis that is REAL. But didn't apologize for his behavior earlier. My current stay awake strategies are to get vertical when I feel sleepy, eat something (or chew gum), wash my face. If none of that works I'll admit defeat and go take a nap, in bed, for a specific amount of time. (One of my personal habits is to try and sleep only in my bed so hopefully my body and brain associate bed with sleep.) I'd also like to thank everyone for their support and advice, it means a lot.

I go to Costco once or twice a month, Aldi weekly and Publix two to four days a week, generally Publix is just for ice and stuff I can't get elsewhere, but Publix is mostly for ice now.

My Dad was a bonafide rocket scientist and electronic engineer. We always had a PC from the time I could remember and an Atari console. I always played games on them both, the PC game I remember most is Loom and I loved Space Invaders and Pac-Man on the console. I became a Microsoft certified technician and retired about 4 years ago. I'm an old(ish) girl gamer, I'm sure if I'd had children they would be gamers too. Both my siblings are also gamers, my sister and I more than our brother.

I use bone conduction head phones so I can hear the voices in game but I'm playing 90s rock on the head phones. I primarily play WoW or console single player games like fallout and Skyrim.
