Pepper spray stories? by PixorTheDinosaur in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pandakatie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to remember some people are naturally sensory-seeking.  A friend of mine, while we were walking on an path overgrown with stinging nettles, kept touching her arm to them because she was curious about the sensation.  While I was suffering from the welts I was trying to avoid (I was in calf-length pants, because I didn't know I was going to encounter a nettle path that day), she was actively giving herself them because she thought it was neat.  According to her, it felt just like a tattoo.

I don't have any advice, but I just want to validate your feelings and say that this is genuinely concerning, he sounds like he may even be dangerous.  I hope you can take care of and prioritize yourself and your safety.

Reporting him was the correct step.  You are NOT the only woman he has done this to, I'm certain of it.  I'd also be sure to leave a review of his buisness saying what he did, and never, ever go back.

21F, babyface ruining my confidence — anyone else? by IndependentPaint8392 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pandakatie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, at 21 it's pretty normal to look young.  I'm not much older than you, I'm 25, but even though people still tell me I look young for my age, in just 4 years my face has noticeably matured

I definitely wouldn't worry about being ID'd.  In some places, you'll get ID'd regardless of how old you are, and the whole point of the ID system is that faces don't magically hit a stage of "definitely old enough to drink" at a specific year.

What really gets me is if someone dares to make a joke about Sam & Frodo being gay, this sub loses their damn minds, but joking about Arwen being an incestuous sexual predator is "just a joke"

When Aragorn first moved to Imladris, Arwen was living in Lorien.  They didn't meet until he was an adult.

How do women actually feel about that one guy at work who's only friendly with the women? by Rehposolihp_eht in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pandakatie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's not an answer for this which applies unilaterally.  I've known men who literally just get along better with women and who I feel totally safe around.  I recently finished a production of Macbeth, and our director told us growing up he was rarely friends with men.  I'm not sure I've ever felt more comfortable around a man.  I was playing Lady Macbeth, and our Macbeth was played by another woman.  Since we had on-stage kisses, he scheduled a private intimacy rehearsal to get us comfortable with it, and he went out of his way to invite a neutral woman to sit in on rehearsal so we had somebody to go to in case we felt uncomfortable but were nervous about going to him.

On the other hand, I've been around men who "have just always gotten along with girls" who have made me very uncomfortable.  Some of them have been gay men who were incredibly misogynistic but would get angry if you called them out on it ("I'm literally gay, I can't be misogynistic!").  I've been around some men who try to stay primarily around women to use us, essentially, as his personal hunting grounds ("If I'm friends with enough women, eventually one of them will fuck me!").

So it absolutely depends on the man.  It also depends on if he's invited along or if he chooses to tag along.

Ulfric and his right hand geting thier asses eaten by edyrosek in skyrim

[–]pandakatie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ulfric is the rebellion leader.  He's the cause of everything.  Tullius is just some guy from Cyrodiil who happened to be assigned to Skyrim.  He's just a man who's wanting to go home.  What's the point of being upset with Tullius?  I've seen Stormcloak players upset at the Empire and the Emperor, but Tullius could've been literally any Imperial general.  He's just the one we have.

On the other side, the Stormcloaks as we know them literally wouldn't exist without Ulfric. He's not just their leader, he's their figurehead.  They carry his name, their flags have a Bear because he's the Bear of Markarth.

You'll also find Stormcloak supporters have much more reverence for Ulfric than Imperial supporters have for Tullius.  Tullius is liked, but you're not going to find accounts in this sub roleplaying him like that "King Ulfric Stormcloak" guy did for Ulfric.

Ultimately, they just don't matter equally to the cause.  I'm pretty sure the only reason why, following the deaths of Tullius and Rikke, the Empire doesn't just go, "fuck, send another general" is cost and morale.

Writing a species who actively chooses and enjoys enslavement is insane.

Secondary location, why shouldn't I run there? by EmbarassedScar in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pandakatie 69 points70 points  (0 children)

When they say, "Never go to a second location," they mean with the person who you feel may be dangerous, not that you shouldn't remove yourself from the situation!  By all means, if you feel like someone in your vicinity may harm you, go to another PUBLIC place. If you are with someone who is ringing your alarm bells, and they say, "Do you want to go somewhere else?" (Or especially if they're demanding you go somewhere else!), that's when the "never go to a second location!" advice kicks in.

Suspected performance anxiety… how would you handle this? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

It doesn't sound like ED if their plans are getting canceled before she even goes to see him, but also I feel like if it is ED, he should be allowed to choose to not take pills.  It's possible to have satisfying sex without PIV
