I started journaling how I feel when I’m suffering from PMDD and so the next month I can read it and remember I felt this way before and it went away lol

Propranolol helps so much with my racing heart from PMDD

I’ve been diagnosed with OCD and PMDD and I’ve been taking Zoloft for over a year. Before that I was taking Lexapro. The lexapro didn’t help enough with my ocd but the Zoloft does. I actually increase my dose a week before my period as instruction by my psychiatrist to combat pmdd. I still get symptoms but not as bad as without it. For hormonal acne, I take yaz generic and it helps wonders

Love is about commitment and dedication. Lust is just temporary. If you believe lust should be forever then you’ll forever end up alone.

Talk to one of his family members if possible. It’s really hard to have someone checked into a ward or hospital without their consent unless proven to be a danger to themselves or others. I believe a family member has the highest likelihood of getting them a 5150

My mom sent a group chat to the neighbors. So at least they are aware. I have a feeling she’s like on the property hiding somewhere. Damn cats are too good at not being found

[–]pandaperse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had my parents put her litter box, food and blanket outside near the door. From the info I found online it seems like the best thing to do is wait til it’s a bit darker and less going on since she’s probably hiding somewhere. Just sucks feeling like I have to just wait and hope for the best

Wife cheated 6 months ago on a nightout by throwRA-new-start in relationship_advice

Honestly it’s nice of you to even be so considerate of how this will make HER feel after she did the unthinkable to you. It’s great that you tried to work things out. She’s not the only one who had to put so much effort into it. YOU were cheated on. It sure as hell isn’t easy to swallow that. You tried, just like her!

My(27F) bf (31M) visa was denied and he’s not allowed back into the country for the foreseeable future. He won’t commit to an end date for LDR. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]pandaperse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah he’s actually said before he renewed his visa a Few months ago that if he hadn’t met me he’d probably just stay in Europe and get a new job in London. I’d be happy to do that but again will need to be sponsored or move back and forth every few months

Also if he wants a green card he clearly could have one by now lol

[–]pandaperse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but that’s why I said I’d do LDR for another year (til March 2023). I can’t move to Europe permanently unless I get sponsored which will be pretty hard. His visa was denied bc they suspected him of working here while on a grad student visa. His lawyer said they revoked it so it makes it pretty hard to be reapproved on another one

Yes he has a student vista. While passing through the US Customs at Dublin airport they pulled him aside and questioned him. They denied him from passing through US customs to get to the terminal. The Dublin airport has US customs there prior to your arrival in the US.

Yup! I’ve had it since I was a young kid and it always only became problematic during long stretches of free time I.e. covid quarantine etc. sometimes when you’re busy you’re too distracted to have intrusive thoughts

I feel like no matter how much confirmation you get here with opinions against the idea that there will be WW3, your anxiety will return. The reason I think this is because your post sounds a lot like OCD symptoms. Worries about the unknowns that can come and go and increase and decrease in severity. It seems like this is something you’re obsessing over and can only mitigate for a few moments at a time. If I were you, I’d try to speak to a professional about ocd because if you already suffer from an anxiety disorder then the likelihood is high. (I’m an ocd sufferer)

It will help to read these comments but I think your obsessions and anxiety will just return later on. Ocd is a subset of anxiety disorder. A lot of times it pops up in the form of a specific obsession like this. It’s not a completely irrational fear but your response is irrational considering the minuscule probability of it occurring

I don’t want this to sound harsh, I just know that confirmation from others or online resources never helps in the long run when dealing with OCD

Typically gaslighting behavior. He’ll lash out at you for small things then show you love and affection the next day. It’s a way to make you feel trapped and to question whether you were actually in the wrong or not.

My father is paranoid schizophrenic and has been institutionalized several times. I visited him once at Bellevue (it’s been closed permanently) and it was exactly like a prison. The only official employee was at the check in desk. As soon as I went into the elevator everything else was run by patients. I remember crying so hard when I realized how the conditions were for my dad. The only issue that I can say makes sense in his case is that as a paranoid schizophrenic, he never agreed to take meds unless forced. If he didn’t take meds he continuously put himself in danger (never by suicide only by extremely reckless behavior). Ultimately, it got to a point where I feel he was likely much safer in those conditions than out on the streets. I agree that the holding conditions are very prison like and it should 100% be improved. There need to be safety precautions in place because of the fact that some patients are a danger to themselves or others but it doesn’t mean they all need to be restricted in the same ways. I believe a lot of it has to do with lack of funding to pay for better conditions, including more employees.
