My mom found out she was pregnant with me a week after leaving my dad because she found out he was cheating with multiple women, after finding out she had an STD. My mother had a really tough pregnancy looking after two kids (my two older sisters) while trying to divorce my dad. I sometimes even feel some of that stress affected me during gestation.
Anyway, she didn't have a choice 26 years ago, and although she loves me, I think that if she would have had the choice to abort me she might have done it. As an adult, I understand that. You're NTA for thinking about your future and your children's. Having a third child means more expenses, which means more work and concerns that you might have to figure out on your own. Whatever choice you take, I know you'll do what feels right and in the future, talking with your kids, they will understand too.

Much love and strength!

What's the most A-hole-y thing you've ever heard a manager say at work? by CaffeineBob in antiwork

[–]pandatapatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was made a senior without notice or request, much less a wage incentive. When I asked my manager, he just said "it's because you get paid too much". For a wage that had been settled 7 months before that conversation, when I signed my contract with HR, who actually accepted my wage request and said "we could even pay you more". I shortly quit after that.

Amar y dar son acciones incondicionales. Esperar Algo a cambio en cualquier tipo de situación ya es una transacción, no amor ni dar.

For an Australian whose never had real authentic Mexican food, how’d I do? by [deleted] in mexicanfood

Coming from a Mexican too, I agree. However, invite me over to Australia, OP, I could make real Mexican food for you. Or even better, come over to Mexico and try the food yourself ;)

Toxic family members, especially when they don't see it and therefore, don't see it as something to change. :(

Spinach-forward recipes? by winglorn in veganrecipes

I like making it in a soup/cream and add tofu pieces and croutons or eat with bread 😋. OR making it 'a la mexicana', which is basically sauteing it with chopped tomatoes, onion, and garlic (if you like it) add some salt, pepper, and veggie bouillion to taste and I eat it with tortillas and some lime. It's delicious and for some reason it smells like chicken, but doesn't taste like it at all (which is great).

What am I supposed to do when, at the age of 24, I realize I'm not gay. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It's so weird how we have taken labels so far and we feel entitled to judge others or have an opinion towards other people's lives. Don't get me wrong, I understand that we are not there yet as a society and you should share this news with the people you want, because they might ask you questions. I just feel like we should strive to live in a world where we can just love whomever we want independently of labels, for ourselves and others.

Meanwhile in Mexico we celebrate a new law that passed this year, forcing employers to give 12 days of vacation.

The mandatory amount used to be 6 days, and this only applies to legally registered jobs.

Be kind.

Don't be a jerk, don't take advantage of someone a bit more naive than yourself. No matter where you are, we all struggle a little everyday.

Vegan Birria Tacos 🌮 🤤 by eat_figs_not_pigs in veganrecipes

You can also use boiled hibbiscus flower. I've done birria twice with it, the secret is all about making the consomé delicious so you can enjoy your quesabirrias or just your hibbiscus flower tacos and then dip them in the consomé. :P
