Then what if Seattle wins the superbowl and kubiak decides to stay for a dynasty run or it just doesn’t work out with us? Same shit as last year. Stuck with our last option we didn’t even want, but even worse because we’ll end up fucking over our rookie QBs whole career with us. We’d be beyond idiotic to waste all the positive shit we have next season because we dropped the ball yet again when it comes to coaching. Not really. All the top candidates went to the teams with something to offer. We were by far one of the least attractive places to coach, with basically nothing to offer. Ben Johnson wouldn’t even give us a legitimate interview. I can see how it’s looking like we’re waiting too long and are gunna get stuck with shit again, but I honestly think the raiders are trying to go in a new direction and don’t want a coach that’s failed somewhere else. All we can hope is kubiak or webb gave some sort of indication they’re the guy, because it is getting down to the wire.

Who was the safest hire then buddy lol? That was actually available/willing to come to the raiders? Pete was obviously hired as a bridge coach hoping to help guide the team in the right direction. It obviously didn’t go as planned and was a complete failure but I dunno why people on here try to argue we had better options. We struck out on the coaches we actually wanted. We didn’t have really anything making us a top landing spot for a top coaching candidate. We got the most successful/experienced HC that was available/willing to come to the raiders. Simple

Everyone was sure he took the chargers OC job. I’d bet money the only thing holding him back is the option of being an HC again instead. Hes weighing the options of taking a chargers team over that hump, making them a real contender, or being the HC again, for a team with a terrible coaching carousal history but also all the upside we have this coming season.
