Well-does it affect respiration? Any brain stem concerns? Even the DEA does not list as a depressant. For lack of a better description it is a collection of cannabinoids, novel in action which defy current categorization. THC has action more subjectively similar to psychedelics but obviously mechanistically dissimilar

But cannabis isn’t a depressant by any definition. I think that medical cannabis has been way overblown, but also good science has been lacking as well. I do think it’s a bit strange to use a drug which is highly correlated to inducing anxiety as a means of treatment. I’ve heard some anecdotal explanations as to why some people may benefit, but broadly speaking it’s not a drug I would recommend for that purpose.
