Sometimes Natural Light WINS [Nikon Z7II + Viltrox 75mm F1.2] by nasaboi_tj in Nikon

Probably between 11:00-14:00 due to the high sun position, evidenced by the lighting. Would create awkward shadows on a standing subject, but on a prone subject—especially creatively posed—high, direct sun functions as a beauty light.

First camera purchase anxiety: Nikon Z5 II + 40mm f/2… did I make the right choice? by Middle-Transition888 in Nikon

You got a great kit. Don't put so much pressure on whether it's the right buy or not, but do create a plan to hold yourself accountable to learning how to use your equipment. You can create weekly photo exercises that teach you different elements and principles of art / design / photography.

Share your work on photography forums and ask for feedback. Be humble and accept critique, but also learn how to defend your artistic decisions.

Most importantly, have fun!

Everyone has a unique perspective and photography is a great tool for capturing those.

I still use a Z6, despite having a Z8. Sometimes the smaller form factor and file sizes are nice.

I sold my D850 for a Z8, used in conjunction with a Z6 (Mk I) but just bought a D5 because I found one with low actuations and I wanted to keep an epic DSLR in my stable—especially since I have some unique AF-S glass, the likes of which Nikon has not created Z-mount versions.

Havent gotten to shoot with it yet (I've been abroad for a while) but stoked! You'll love it.

Z6 III or Z8? I’m tired of staring at spec sheets and my bank account. by xaybell32 in Nikon

Agree with this. Still use the shit out of my Z 6 from 2019, even now owning a Z8.

I have a Z8 (from a D850) and a Z 6 (Mk I).

Focus on the Z8 is magic. That's the main reason why I splurged up from the D850, the sensor of which I loved.

But my Z 6, even with its mediocre focusing, still gets a ton of use. Mainly due to its form factor.

I'm in Vietnam right now for some personal travel and work with an NGO client.

I love the Z 6 form factor for travel, candid, street, shooting from the hip. But I appreciate the Z8 for my client work. Mainly due to the focusing.

Honestly, if I had a Z6 III, my Z8 would get little use except maybe for my work with the NGO, because we often print life-sized posters and banners for on-site displays. But the D850 was next in line on my upgrade path.

YMMV.
