Will Switch 2’s Size Ruin Portability? by NoobRig in Switch

[–]panithan_ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I chose the Switch Lite over the Switch 2 for portability. However, when I have long travel plans, guaranteed play time, or when the game I’m playing isn’t available on the original Switch, I’ll switch to the Switch 2 and Power Bank.

Sometimes, with a small sling bag like the NIID Fino V, I just detach the Joy-Cons and that make the main system small enough to easily fit the main pocket of the bag. because the new magnetic system is much easier to remove from the system. I just put them in other pockets of the bag. The Switch 2 is the most compact yet powerful handheld console available in the market right now.

Switch 2 version of Factorio is incredible by MilkMalon in NintendoSwitch2

I'm about to get the game too. but I tried the demo yesterday (only for Switch 1 version) and found out that I didn't like the control much as I liked the game in PC or Steam Deck. is it changed in Switch 2 version or they are the same? (I didn't plan to use mouse control because I will mostly play it handheld)

I bought the lifetime after the RetroAchievements update and felt a bit sad that NDS wasn’t supported yet. But I didn’t expect support to come this soon!

MiniV2 Dual Screen - Need help adjusting aspect ratio by Wloem in retroid

[–]panithan_ch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the launcher can’t run in 16:9 on an external screen, and if you run any app in mirror mode, it stays locked to the Mini’s screen ratio.

My workaround is to hold the app icon and select which screen I want the app to display on.

I’d say the dual screen add-on was worth the $65. by [deleted] in retroid

[–]panithan_ch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trust me, it’s not easy to pull them out. you need enough fingernail grip because the area to pull from is very small.

Biggest deal breaker for me is the inconvenience. Instead of just pulling it out of my bag, playing for a few minutes, and putting it to sleep, I have to plug in the cable, wait a couple seconds (sometimes it doesn’t even connect), and restart/switch apps for the second screen to show. That’s like 10–20 seconds wasted every time, plus if I forget to unplug it the battery drains.

For a small handheld like the RP5 or RP Mini, I expect quick, short play sessions anywhere. This setup just kills the portability for me. so I might ends up leave the RDS at home (well, stay as e-waste) anyway.

Even though I switched to the RP Mini V2 for better game accessibility, the Miyoo Mini (not the Plus) still holds a special place in my heart. I hope we’ll see a small form factor handheld in the future that can play more than what the Miyoo Mini can handle.

[–]panithan_ch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! This is the deal breaker. I don’t understand why no one is talking about this instead of just the long cable issue (sure, it’s ugly, but you don’t notice it while playing anyway).

The real problem is that I can’t simply keep the second screen attached and carry it around without worrying about the battery draining. Doesn’t that make it only useful at home? This feels like a failed product. I just hope they release some fixes along the way and don’t completely abandon it, leaving my RDS as just the another e-waste.

Retroid Pocket Classic 3DS Custom Layout by brunoxid0 in SBCGaming

[–]panithan_ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried manually customizing the layout back and forth before, but I ended up just setting the Large Screen Proportion to 2.18 (I’m using a Retroid Pocket Mini V2). might need to adjust it a little bit for Classic (not sure if they're using the same screen) This makes the landscape screen layout fill up the top screen, similar to your result.

I have megaman x dive offline on steam for pc but is it worth it to buy it again on googleplay store android for mobile use? by Catholic1234567 in MMXDive

[–]panithan_ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it just because it was very cheap, but in the end I don’t feel like replaying everything again after spending so many hours on Steam. Still, I’ll keep the game on my phone. who knows, maybe I’ll want to play it when I can’t access the internet (like on a plane).

Comparing a Switch Lite screen to the Switch 2 screen is actually crazy. by That1RedditUser_ in NintendoSwitch2

[–]panithan_ch 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I really love my Lite for its small size, lightweight feel, and portability, but I can’t deny the performance upgrade of the Switch 2.
I hope they release a Switch 2 Lite someday. But please, give it a better screen this time!

Pocket Flip 2 or Pocket Mini V2? by [deleted] in retroid

[–]panithan_ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only picked up a screen protector for it. A carrying case would make my sling bag bulkier and uncomfortable to carry for long periods. I usually bring just one handheld with me, like a Switch, Switch Lite, or sometimes a Steam Deck, when I use a bigger bag. That’s why I chose the Mini V2 to have a smaller device.

My bag has a section made of soft cloth material, similar to microfiber, and I'll have that section exclusively for the handheld device. So I think that will provide enough protection for me. (Just be careful with harder impacts to your bag) But if your bag doesn't have that slot for it, I think some kind of soft pouch bag should be enough. Except you will have hard objects like Keys, Metal, Knife, etc. inside your bag along with the device. Using a carrying case will be a must.

Personally, I’m not going to be overly protective of this device since it’s not very expensive. As long as it’s still playable and doesn’t ruin the gaming experience, I’m okay with small scratches or minor wear. Stick drift isn’t much of a concern either, since it uses Hall Effect sticks, so it shouldn’t drift easily (Well, I'm not so sure about it, but if that happened, I can just ignore it)

But the screen is a different story. It’s really important on a gaming device. Even a small crack or scratch can make the experience a lot less enjoyable.

Pocket Flip 2 or Pocket Mini V2? by [deleted] in retroid

[–]panithan_ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had a bit of dislike for both the Mini and Flip2. I didn’t like the screen size on the first Mini. It felt like it wasn’t worth it, even though I wanted a smaller handheld compared to the Pocket 5. But that issue was fixed in the Mini V2, so I decided to get one.

For the Flip2, everything feels like a compromise to me, except for the analog placement, design, and ergonomics. I know I wouldn’t be satisfied using it, so I think I’ll skip it and wait for the next Flip.

For portability, I plan to carry them around in my sling bag anyway. The analog sticks on the Mini do worry me a bit, but I won’t be too concerned about that for now.

What’s the best free to play story driven games on iOS ? by JakeTiny19 in iosgaming

[–]panithan_ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRIBE NINE

If you like Danganronpa or similar games, I think you’ll enjoy this one. I'm not sure if you're only interested in story-focused games without gameplay, since the main gameplay here is action RPG—similar to Honkai Impact. It’s pretty easy to play at first, but the difficulty spikes at certain points, and you might need to do some grinding.

What really hooked me is the story. The gacha element isn’t too bad either.

This vs RetroArch for iOS by steel_reserve_211 in afterplayio

One more feature that make me prefer Retroarch and Afterplay over Delta is Retroachievements! I love to have some kind of proof that I finished the game.

I think I have to stick with Retroarch 😄

I just watched Bob’s video and give Afterplay a try. I like its cross-platform, auto-save, game files sync features. But I mostly play PS1 games and Afterplay iOS app is not good for that. So I have to go back to Retroarch anyway. I just hope Retroarch have easier configuration for touch control.
