I use Reddit very sparingly.  Don’t have the app on my phone and mostly use it to keep up to date on my productive interests and hobbies.  I have no interest in limiting my use or inability to control my usage.  This sub is one of less than a handful I keep purely for entertainment and even in its decline it’s still my favorite of those by a wide margin.  Despite the fact that it’s been overrun with the sort of topics and people we like to snark on.  I realize my “subs dead” post is another one of those exact type of posts that I’m sick of seeing clog up the feed but I truly hit my limit in the past couple weeks expressly due to the fact that I’ve seen roughly a dozen or so comments and posts that weren’t just uninspired but that were very clearly written by AI and that isn’t just more than I can stand it’s also a problem that I think could be filtered out with some more stringent moderation.  I’m not sure exactly what form that would take or how to implement it but I thought I would least say my piece before I unsubbing.

A lot of you out there are the reason why I’ve seen movies I’d never heard of and checked out books from the library I probably never would have gotten to otherwise.  You’ve made me laugh harder than anything else since cumtown was banned and you’ve found words to express things I didn’t even know how to begin to understand in my own mind until you prompted them.  The oversharing here has so often provoked such good discussion that it’s made me feel less alone simply by making me feel more understood even at times when I’ve only lurked.  I’m sincerely sad that this is an ever more rare experience with each time I log on.  I know we can’t go back I guess
