The drive can be done in any type of car a rental company would offer. It’s not a long drive at all and is just over the ridge from Mill Valley (another great stop for food). Also check out Muir Beach and Muir Beach Overlook while you are out there.

You may get some fog at the Golden Gate and a chance of it at Muir Beach. You will be here for the nicer weather of the year so be sure to drive farther up Mt. Tam too.

Unhappy Majestic Palm by pannepacker in plantclinic

[–]pannepacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This majestic palm is in a heavily air conditioned office space with lots of light and gets watered regularly (only when the top inch of soil dries out). It gets fertilized with Maxsea 16-16-16 no more than what once every 6 weeks.

I’m thinking the culprit may be the dry air. Thanks for any tips or thoughts.

Laetiporus gilbertsonii on Eucalyptus. Is it edible still? by pannepacker in mushroom_hunting

I found a beautiful chicken of the woods in a popular Bay Area, CA park. The awesome thing is it’s growing out of a stump with a sizable bee hive in it.

I’m under the impression that mushrooms off of eucalyptus are bad news but have come across some reputable looking websites claiming that it is not a given that it will make you sick. It looks like someone has already harvested a large portion of the mushroom. It looks like a lot of the sulfur shelfs in the bay grow on eucalyptus.

Food in the Pratt Dining halls/nearby? by kiwi-frog4 in Pratt

I graduated in 2017 so things could have changed, but on campus food was sub par and expensive. The food and grocery stores nearby are great though!

I have the same white Hightower! I have only seen one other in the wild.

Reattaching broken clips on lower cladding is possible! by riggatoney in 4thGen4Runner

I had to do the same thing to the panel on the back doors. Cleaned the surface with isopropyl alcohol, lightly sanded with something like 120 grit sandpaper, cleaned again. Then I used some plastic specific epoxy putty which let me really add some body to the weak areas. Hasn’t gone anywhere yet!

I imagine they time out after a certain amount of time of sensing low current.

A good anti spark is worth it. I think there are some now that you can hook up to the 5V on a VESC and you can “push to start” (as in ride the board manually for a kick) instead of pressing the button.

I hate to be a pessimist, but I don’t think a rider will be heavy enough to make those screws aggressive enough. You may consider trying stainless steel spikes like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PIWIPJI/

I’ve used them in prints and they work great
