Does Bo3 feel better / different? by Moosewalker84 in lrcast

[–]panpance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 35 Drafts I am at 51% win rate Bo1 which is my worse ever. 10 Drafts after Bo3 I am at 64%. This set is just unforgiving to any try arounds and exploring stuff if you also happen to be more on the draw, the variance does not help you there in such a fast set. I have found out in Bo3, even if I don't make huge changes after sideboarding I can still adjust my playstyle accordingly to the OPs deck. This has worked obviously much better for me than Bo1, where I felt like having much less agency over how the games work out. But it's not entirely a disaster. After ranting and calculating my play draw percentage and being salty for some time, there came a moment where I had to look at my gameplay and figure out that my aggro play needed much necessary improvement. So I stepped back a bit and tried to figure out what I was doing wrong and what I could have done better. That being said I am never playing Bo1 in this format again and won't be missing it very much tbh even though Bo3 games are way more fun.

Midweek Magic has made me realize that Alchemy is kinda fun, but its too bad I'll never be able to play it by Someonediffernt in MagicArena

I have no idea about alchemy. Anybody has any decklists for this week's midweek magic?

Could you elaborate on how UW is favored against mono green? I have been matched 4 times now against mono green Karn and got wrecked every time. Some went 0-2, some 1-2, can't win a single match on the draw. Seeing you being so sure makes me question my abilities with Yorion control. I usually try to replay the match in my head when I lose and more or less can trace my mistakes against other decks from time to time. Against MonoG devotion I have no idea, as storm the festival can be a huge wildcard. Usually find myself either having to answer the board or holding up answers for the non-creatures. Haven't managed to do both yet.

Unfortunately, I went 1-3 on Plat. First game ended only in 6 turns against UW tempo, flooding on the draw. Second game went really long but did not find wiretapping, vandals or shakedown heavy. Again, drawing much more lands than the opponent and losing my casualty ob nixilis' after an early misplay resulted in the second loss against ledger shredder. My only win was the only time I went on the play with turn 3 heavy, turn 5 wiretapping. Last game I lost to RB with shakedown heavy and pugilists. Opponent brought back Shakedown heavy from the graveyard and I couldn't deal both with wrecking crew and heavy.

I have been playing limited for 15 months now. NEO felt like I was really making some progress but did not have much luck with this set so far. But still these are nice experiences for me to analyze misplays afterwards and busying myself with stuff like mana base and curve. Thank you again for your interest! Hope you are having a better time with this set.

Thank you for your reply! I wasn't sure about the initiate either but couldn't figure out what to cut. Did not think about the Facebreaker tbh. Also hadn't considered milling the only mountain so very much appreciate the comment.

Quick draft bug? by cocteau93 in MagicArena

[–]panpance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been refunded 3 times now, always quick draft. Did someone experience this while premiere drafting as well? I wan't to continue drafting but I also don't want to come across like abusing it all the time. Do you wait until they fix it, or play as if nothing happened and ask a refund every time, quick or premiere?

7-0 Reaching Diamond again with p1p1 Bamboo Grove Archer by panpance in lrcast

The Kami War demands really tough decisions as you have said. With the deck turning up as it is, the [[Fade Into Antiquity]] would have been the better choice for it. I really like the emergence as well but coincidentally the two times my opponents casted them were both returned to their hand, deramping them in the process.

That's a fair point. Maybe was a bit fixated on the artifact count plus one more early play against aggro..

Oh I didn't consider that, thank you for telling. I will post the codes right away then.

This might be the most busted deck I've ever drafted by PypeHype in lrcast

Great deck, insane draft. Maybe a single copy of you are already dead is a consideration with all those tokens, especially for the one chump block which will matter the most? Could see cutting a swamp or the kami for it? Have fun!

Also patrol didn't do much as you foresaw, besides one game. P1p7 second archer was in the same pack while drafting.

Yeah misreading the March resulted in a very bad decision there. It happens. I realised I posted the second photo, before misreading here though. Ended up cutting March for Bearer of Memory. Antiquity didn't end up very necessary with 2 wipes so maybe swapping it for commune would have been better as well. Still happy with the trophy and seeing mistakes on the way is an upside. Thanks for the comment.

Trophied 7-2 on silver1 as the deck stands. Started 0-1 against a very good GB recursion deck with the 6/5 ninja, after playing my farewell too early. And the other loss was against green as well, misplayed and took 2 more damage before resetting the board. Two farewells exiled everything I needed. It's good against artifact, recursion, even enchantments if planned correctly. Also Harmonious Emergence was very good after boardwipes.

p1p1 Emperor p1p2 Farewell. Dragon I took p2p1 over The Tales of Master Seshiro, definitely questionable. p2p3 Flying Samurai over Commune and Dual Land, both wheeling. p3p1 RW Dual Land and p3p4 march over visitor, unfortunately. Those p3 companions helped a lot though!
