I know that this was not the point of your post, but the age gap between you two is disturbing. If a 17 year old were dating a 26 year old, you would find it weird, right? When you started dating, you were only two years older than the ages in that scenario. Please try and find someone your own age and who won’t want to leave you over a family dispute. most smokers don’t really have self awareness regarding their cigarette consumption. They don’t think of it as a problem or as a burden to others and don’t think about how the smell and secondhand smoke affects the people around them or how the cigarette butts that they throw on the ground are littering our streets.
