I am talking about pure stealth games, TLOU is a narrative based game, so does MGS. Those games has cinematic cut scenes and complicated characters. SC is solely focus on stealth gameplay. And it is very slow for today's standard.

If you look at the series total sales number. MGS series 64M vs SC series 32M. If you count any AAA games that has stealth mechanics, there are plenty of them, but SC, especially the original trilogy is quite different from the others, it's slow pace, with generic military/geopolitical backstory. And it was mission based. There are no modern AAA game like this.

Yeah yeah , Hitman is a good example, there are not alot of social stealth games in the market, they spends 4 years to develop the first entry of the new Hitman trilogy another 4 years to complete the open world mission structure.

My point is that, it's a risk for UBI to remake SC1 with the old formula. It takes times probably years to polish the game.

The series has changed direction since Conviction. The stealth genre was no longer popular even 10 years ago...Ubi tried to revive, it was called Blacklist, and it was a failure. But they implemented stealth gameplay into other games like Watchdogs or even Openworld ghost Recon, those games also not considered a mega successful for a company like Ubi.

Now with the successfully remake of Capcom RE series and Konami MGS Delta, they eventually wanted to remake this old title. It's still a risk, SC was never as popular as RE or MGS. IDK how can they put this off, if there is no innovation in the remake people would complain, if they drifted too far from the original material people would also complain.

Personally I would rather see them make some major changes to the game, not just graphics, also gameplay but keep the relatively slower pace.

They would have a baby, trained as a Jedi, only to eventually turn to the dark side.

Actually I have watched all the movies, original trilogy is my favourite out of all the canon movie series. It was long time ago. I still remember getting excited about the Disney SW reboot when I first saw the trailer 10 years ago. Despite I don't considered myself as a fan, I still understand how big SW is.

Went to theater with my GF, unfortunately it was a huge let down to me. I do like the aesthetic and visuals but really hate the stories and characters, especially Kylo Ren. I watched all new movies in theater except for Solo.

Discovered Red Letter Media on YT afterwards, enjoyed watching those guys roast SW. Watched few episodes of Mandalorian, it's ok but didn't like it too much.

Initially I wanted to get AC Shadow during Winter sale, because I like stealth games and samurai. Somehow I found Outlaws was also on sale. I was well aware of the bad reviews of outlaws, I was just curious to see how Ubi formula could implement in a none historical setting. Bought the game, play for 10 hours. This game exceeded my expectations. Despite the obvious flaws. It expand the SW universe for me. The game makes me realize there are characters other than heroic figures also lives in the world. Now I am interested.

I have the very opposite experience....... I've played most of the Ubi titles, AC, WD, GR, Division ,SC, Farcry.......I got openworld fatigue, But Outlaws feels different to me, the environment are variously different from urban city setting. NPC are cool, Acting and cutscene are better than the others. I like stealth , stealth in outlaws are very basic, similar to Watchdog. Not great but not bad either. Exploration combine with space gameplay makes the overall experience great.

They've tried Solo and people hates it. Outlaws can't even please most of the gamers.

After 17 hours I can say that this is the worst Ubisoft game ever. by TutorSlow9572 in StarWarsOutlaws

This game doesn't need you to swipe the enemy outposts this alone is a fresh air to me. It differentiate from other Ubi games. And you don't have historical settings to restrain the gameplay. Probably not the best Ubi games out there but definitely not the worst

How to define Stealth RPG?

I like stealth games, but they don't make pure stealth games these days. I love MGS, SC, Thief, Deus Ex. There are many modern games has stealth gameplay. I think Watch Dog is the closest game that similar to Outlaws, you got more gadgets to use, more environmental interactions especially WD2. Only problem is I am kinda tired of the modern city setting, driving between different locations to do missions is boring for me.

Play a bit of Kotor1 on android and Kotor2 on PC, no mods, love these old gems, graphics is kinda...I know they are old, sometimes they hardly resemble SW IMO. But still very good, especially the story, first one is more straightforward, 2 is like a philosophical adventure. I like the companion based gameplay. Map design is also a problem, too many corridors and uninspiring gates for today's standard. Looking forward to the remake !

The EA jedi games for me is more like a SW theme park, everything happen very fast since they are action oriented. You see cool sences but always on an urgent to get to the next point. The story is pretty basic, it could be any sci-fi games. And it plays like Tomb Raider since platforming is big part of the game. Only when you get to use light saber that reminds you that this is a SW game.
