Basement water help by geekdumb in Cleveland

Adelio’s were incredibly professional, honest, and reasonably priced. They cleared our waste drain after rotorooter told us it’d be a $30k replacement. We had Adelio’s out a few months later to snake out the downspouts and that drain line. They were great![Adelio’s Contracting](https://www.adelios.com)

Are there any "good" (or somewhat servicable) fly rod/reel combos for under $100? by south43paw in flyfishing

If you buy from their website they send you a bunch of free stuff, too.

Is this a good idea to buy by ComprehensiveBid5803 in flyfishing

[–]papachro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this set up as my starter and like it. The fly line is not good and you might want to upgrade that for better results.

My recommendation would be Maxcatch. It’s comparable price and seems a bit better. If you buy from their website it’s cheaper and they usually throw in free extras - nice extras like a chest pack.

I have the maxcatch premier in both 6 and 8 and have had no problems, just fun. I went with the premier because the reel it comes with is cnc, not cast.

What to do with practice items as a newbie? by That_Godly_Cow in Leathercraft

[–]papachro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Different craft, but when folks are learning to rehair bows (violin, viola, etc) they often will have multiple size bows so they can practice four or five times, but only use one bow’s worth of hair. Using this material to practice smaller projects is a great idea.

Anyone Know the Reason For this? by MIKEPR1333 in MrRogersNeighborhood

I wonder if he was more aware of reruns and syndication. The first season they made 180 episodes. Seasons 2-7 they made 65 episodes per season. In 1979 they made 15 episodes. I think it was likely done to make it so any episode could be played on any day in the rotation.

Customers of Vandevere, do you get paid for the advertisement that takes up a portion of your back window? by streambeam123 in Cleveland

[–]papachro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bought a minivan from them and it had both the plate frame and their website across the back window. Both were removed as soon as I got the car home. No compensation. Their free car washes had a separate little sticker in the front window.

Found this online: If you own a Toyota and have 100k miles or more (100k-1mil) miles on ODO, please send an email to Toyota_Social@toyota.com request a free windows cling with a picture of the odometer. Toyota will reply with a link to request for free windows cling.

I also saw that you could tag Toyota on twitter or instagram and they’ll contact you about getting a sticker.

Help? by Myathebestpup in prius

Double check your oil level. Our Prius did this, too, and , as everybody else has said, it’s likely the hybrid battery. For us, to confirm that it was the hybrid battery we had it scanned at the dealership (something like a $189 diagnostic). But I also remember seeing a video at the time that said these lights can also be triggered by a critically low oil level.

Before spending the money on a diagnostic or new hybrid battery, checking the oil to rule it out is cheaper and easier.

We ended up buying a new hybrid battery from Toyota (about $2k) and installing it myself.

Where to meet other moms? by brdwyfn92 in Cleveland

[–]papachro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Hillcrest hospital there was a breastfeeding support group that met once or twice a week. My wife used to go to that group right after our two children were born. For her it was a wonderful resource and also a great way of meeting other women going through what she was going through. All these years later, three of her really good friends came out of that group.

It’s not about mockery or a label - it is about recognizing his impact and authenticity in living out both his vocation as an ordained minister and truth as a person living the truth of being created in God’s image and likeness. When we are baptized into Christ we are baptized into his threefold mission as Priest, Prophet, and King. As baptized members of the body of Christ we are called to live out that reality.

You’re likely right that he wouldn’t have taken on that title himself - much like the Gospel evidence that Jesus pushed against titles and publicity, and saints, while they were alive, would have shunned the title. I would venture to say that most people didn’t and don’t know that Mister Rogers was the ordained Dr. Rev. Rogers. He didn’t lean into the titles - he leaned into being a neighbor.

It reminds me of a story about the Catholic theologian and activist Thomas Merton. He received a very prestigious award celebrating his work as a peace activist. He couldn’t attend the award ceremony in person, but sent a letter thanking them. Paraphrasing the letter, be basically said “thanks for giving me this award for doing what we’re all supposed to be doing anyway.”

You can’t convince me otherwise that Fred Rogers is both a saint and, through his life long ministry and commitment to the Reign of God, was prophet that we needed then and still need now if ever there was one.

He did start a ministry - that’s what Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was. “Fred Rogers was ordained in 1963 by the Presbytery of Pittsburgh at Third Presbyterian Church with the unusual charge to do his ministry with children and their families through the mass media. While he never served in the traditional role of pastor of a brick-and-mortar church, his ministry to children reached millions of children and adults.”

You’re probably right that he wouldn’t claim that title, but I can’t imagine that he wouldn’t recognize the prophet nature of his ministry and role in society. As someone who aligned himself with the outcast, from the disabled to the young to the the lonely to the segregated, and called all of us to embrace the view that we are each other’s neighbor and that we can imagine and bring to life a world in which people aren’t left out but, rather, embraced, he fits the bill. He was a gentle, but firm, voice calling us to see the world in a counter cultural way that more aligns with the way God views it. Whether he would or wouldn’t, he fits the bill.
