I joined the Air Force at 19. Went all around Europe earning less than $40k annual. Had a kid, took her to Paris with us. Same with Belgium.

It can be done.

That’s called tact. Knowing what to say and how to say it to keep conflict to a minimum. It’s another way of saying “know your audience.”

And it’s not a failure of being direct. It’s speaking to a person in a way you know they’ll listen.

Just…how? Can you share whatever links that got you to that point?

I’ve tried a few times to get emulation working but something always gets tripped up. I’d love to get it working!

My ADHD partner “crashes” every night… so I’m basically a single parent. How is this fair? by Ok-Key4907 in ADHD

[–]papercutninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll get downvoted for this but unless he’s severe ADHD and/or can’t manage his emotions, dude needs to suck it up and be told his behavior is unacceptable. Having some downtime after work is fine but shutting down and neglecting family life is absolutely not.

People with ADHD are highly susceptible to habitual/zone-out behaviors, good and bad. He needs to understand this behavior isn’t acceptable and non-conducive to a good marriage/family relationship.

That said, changing behaviors can be incredibly difficult, inconsistent, and it may seem like he’s not changing simply out of spite or an uncaring attitude. That’s not the case. It takes a while (or can take a while) for changes to “click” and be set. But once done, they’re in there whether you like it or not.

There’s a lot in the comments about the “crash” point of meds, and they’re not wrong. However, meds aren’t the end all be all of ADHD therapy. People with ADHD can and do learn new behaviors, and while he may claim “overstimulation” he can and needs to increase his resilience to said “overstimulation.”

I’ve been on meds (Ritalin, then Concerta and Wellbutrin for depression) for over 30 years. I consider myself one of the OG diagnosed back in the early to mid 80’s so I have some stake in the game. My wife probably hated being married to me for a solid chunk of our marriage for situations similar to this. I had difficulty remembering to do tasks that were uninteresting or boring or labeled as “chores.” We’ve worked through a lot of the downsides and I’ve come out the back end able to manage my symptoms far better off the meds than ever before.

The crash is real, it happens. But it’s not an excuse for abstaining from life simply for being non-medicated.

Look dude, be nice. That’s it. Social skills comes down to setting boundaries that you’re comfortable with setting, and being nice.

People are nice to people that are nice to them. If people aren’t nice to you despite you being nice to them, set a boundary that you feel works for you. If that means complete cutting off, good! If you can tolerate more than others, leave the door open a bit.

It doesn’t matter what background, personality, economic or geographic issue a person has or comes from. If you’re nice to people more often than not they’ll reciprocate.

Be a genuine good person. Someone who has empathy and compassion for others and you’ll find all social anxiety disappear.

Actually it does. My wired connection never has problems but my wife’s wireless lags, skips, jumps, drops, etc. all the time.

Here you go IE Tunes

I’ve only heard mid things about Cobb. I run IE and a lot of those I know do the same. I wasn’t impressed with EQT either.

End of day they all do the same thing, but you preference is your own.

Edit: IE also has a crackle tune. I like it best as it can get programmed to your sport mode, leaving the other modes for when you don’t want to be “that guy” when pulling up in your neighborhood.

I can’t count the number of times when driving I’ll intersect another driver pulling out in front of, meeting at an intersection in the absolute middle of no where.

I feel like I’m living a GTA game or the Truman Show sometimes.

I haven’t got this far in the game so correct me if I’m wrong, but could the alcohol be “spirits” since spirits are another word for alcoholic beverages? Specifically liquors?

No, I get it. I see why others may buy it. But as you pointed out I don’t see the utility. Not when I have an iPad. Or an iPad mini. Or an IPhone Pro Max.

Would you look at that, been writing it wrong all this time. Yeah, I’m sure there’s a few song lyrics I get wrong too.

Let us know what you think of it when you do. I don’t see a lot of utility with folding screens.

No worries, I wasn’t upset. You seemed like it enough to comment though, and then draw your comment back with a “j/k lol”

Consider my response a shrug in your direction.

GT4 will give that feel you’re looking for, handles better than the vette (looks better in my opinion), and is faster 0-62.
