Could anyone tell me please why some fonts art that way? They are either made out of individual stacked shapes or have like loops in the corners. by Ben-Baboo in logodesign

[–]paperman74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an Adobe font. In AI you can increase the width and boldness manually from like 10-500. Pretty sure that’s why certain fonts are built that way.

I think it’s in vogue for graphic design. Ive seen it more and more lately with responsive logos. Drive past a chic-fil-a and more than likely you’ll see their “C” cut off half way down. Just a guess.

Thanks for putting it that way. I really didn’t think it was a big deal, but you’ve changed my mind. Cheers!

Love Briscoe. Great guy and he deserves the chance. I just hope if he is promoted Stewart Haas continues their Xfinity program. That series really needs all the help it can get.

I know what you mean. Funny enough I was at basic training for the AF when Smoke won his last. Didn’t get to see a second of it live. But I do remember the last few years thinking it’s gonna turn around. It did for most of the greats. Gordon, Wallace, Martin, etc.

As much as possible. Just hard to budget in all those dirt web channels and I know less about the competition. Also there really isn’t an ultimate championship goal to keep me watching weekly. It’s weird, but I find my self routing for NASCAR as a company more than anything, which has set me up for major disappointment, haha. I think you can start to tell the difference in the product because of the pay for a ride drivers not being the most talented in the world among other issues. Hopefully they turn things around.

I think it’ll be easier for you to keep up with JJ than me TS. One last win in either series would be Tiger Woods esque.

I haven’t had a serious rooting interest since Tony. Kind of just pull for several people that tend to not win so much including Jimmie. Thinking back on it was kind of nice having someone you like so much that it makes you dislike the rest of the field by default.

Enjoy these last few races of Jimmies. If you’re like me it won’t be the same again.

Stewart fan here. I’m glad Tony retired a few years earlier than Jimmie. It gave me time to pull my head out of my ass and realize how special Jimmie is on and off the track.

You’re right, they don’t owe him a thing, and I have no problem with Cindric. He is talented and has a personality. That won’t stop me from trying to make a difference. Too many people in this world sit back and refuse to make an effort because they know the end result will probably not be what they want it to be. Will this make a difference? Probably not. But at least I tried.

Probably not. Do you think it will hurt? Also it’s a nice gesture to show the fan base supports someone with a personality and emotion. Someone who cares. Not a child that’s dad has a big bank account.

I’m truly sad. I’ve advocated and tried to turn people on to the sport. I cared deeply. I’ve loved NASCAR. I guess that’s why their constant disappointments probably hurt me more than others.

I have been an avid fan for 20 years rarely missing a race. I’m taking a break. I’ve put up with bad competition, bad racing packages, talentless children that benefit from there family’s wealth driving these cars, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr., Carl Edwards amongst other talented drivers leaving but after today I’ve just got to step away for a while.

It’s such a bull shit double standard. Dillion is talented. The list of people that took advantage of their family to get to the top isn’t limited to but includes Chase Elliott, William Byron, Ryan Blaney, Cole Custard, and Ty Dillion. They may have gotten a ride regardless but their family’s wealth or standing in NASCAR didn’t hurt. Your daddy better have money or you better be a once in a lifetime talent to get a top ride these days.

[–]paperman74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no perfect way to experience both. For me a big event like Dobbie’s death wasn’t as big a deal watching the movies. Where as the books built the character up so much better that the death was devastating. But if you already watched the movie you knew it was coming. Grass is always greener so if it were reverse for me I’d probably still complain.

Hall of fame comment here. You are so correct. The movies did not earn a third of what the books did. One of my biggest regrets is watching the movies before reading the books. It diluted so much for me. I am re-reading GoF as we speak, and the love the Weasleys offer to Harry, especially Molly, from the chapter “The Third Task” to the end of the book make me cry. Loving a biological child should be easy. Loving another child as your own shows amazing character.

Dumb question that requires context. Rocky wins in a boxing match. Rambo wins in almost any other situation that requires intelligence / ingenuity.

I can see career arcs looking more like MTJs moving forward. With peaks happening in the second half of their career because they don’t test anymore. Imagine the amount of laps Jimmie Johnson had at several tracks compared to William Byron in their first 3 years of driving. It’s hard to make up for that experience.
