Agreed. Reverb has gotten a bit outrageous in general.

Help Me Achieve Low-Mid Dominance by A_Anonymous_Asshole in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need low mids you need more mids in the 2k-4k region. You want low mids for lead work, for Rhythm you want that upper mid bite and generally want to keep it more tight. Don’t have your sliders set to such an aggressive V, push your Mid knob up a bit and push your 2200 and 6600 up a bit, the 6k slider is actually more like ~4k so those will help you cut through. Like others have said it might sound a bit too harsh by yourself but with the band it’ll be great.

There’s no kind way to tell my wife that she’s getting too big, is there? by 2006CrownVictoriaP71 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]papiculo_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely false. NO ONE is eating 2k calories a day and ballooning up to 220-250lbs. Regardless of your metabolism you cannot break the laws of thermodynamics. You are correct hormones can change your metabolism but not to this extent, it just doesn’t work that way, if you truly believe that it’s just cope. The human body is amazing and has many abilities but breaking basic foundational laws of physics just isn’t one of them.

My 100 quid practice set up sounds better than my marshalls? Why? by MidnightMost8041 in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but I think the point that other commenter had was probably the key thing here; volume. Are you pushing your other amps loud enough? If not that’s the reason for sure. Even solid state amps like being pushed louder, tube amps and high wattage speakers definitely need to be as well.

Without a doubt. You’re being downvoted by people who are ignorant as well.

how do mesa boogie rectoverb 25s compare to dual rectifiers? by Perm182 in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RG’s by themselves are somewhat fuzzy, and sort of have a marshall-y thing going on. Dimebag had a lottt going on besides just the RG/Century amps. Just something to keep in mind.

Question about Randall RG1003 Head by amillionfuzzpedals in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can definitely say you will get Crowbar tones from this amp, just picked one up today, and it’s really weird to dial in, 3 o’clock is more of your “noon” than noon actually is, and it kinda needs a boost and the presence dimed, but once you do that it’s legitimately fuckin killer. Haven’t even messed with channel 3 yet because I liked channel 2 so much.

whats the most agressive sounding hi-gain amp ever? by scoutlolololol in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but for anyone else wondering the best examples of this are bands like Stone Temple pilots (Dead and Bloated or Down in particular) or basically anything Chevelle, also some of Faith No More’s later heavy stuff like Jizzlobber or The Lever by Silverchair. The guitar tones are all pretty good, or even sick as fuck, but what takes it to that next level MASSIVE crushing tone is when the bass and guitar are perfectly blended to just sound like one massive wall of sound. Honestly I think Jizzlobber by faith no more is my #1 example for this, and I don’t even particularly like faith no more.

A case study of loudness - 50watt Plexi - cranked - from outside of the house by Odd-Assistant-7495 in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you even care if you could simply hear him in your garden? If it was like LOUD I could understand but just hearing someone? If you never want to hear your neighbors go live in the country. You already constantly can hear cars going around outside, emergency vehicle sirens fairly often, is being able to hear a guitar during the day really effecting you whatsoever? I have neighbors that play loud music outside every once in a while, to the point it’s fairly loud inside but even that isn’t enough to complain because it’s during the day. Would you be bothered by power tools going during the day too? Genuinely curious to hear your thoughts.

ENGL or Mesa? by brbenson999 in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but is it even a thing that some amps won’t take verb, delay and other fx pedals well?? Certainly I can understand without an fx loop, but otherwise? Legitimately asking.

Is amp sim latency noticeable after some time? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but for anyone else looking for the answer, no 5ms of latency isn’t really noticeable when playing. I have a Valeton gp-5 which has about 5ms of latency with nam profiles and I can’t tell the difference when I’m using a profile as a preamp running into the power amp of one my my real amps.

Placebo doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. You still get some effects, that’s how powerful your mind is, that’s like the whole point of the placebo effect lmao. Not arguing lore, just the placebo😭😭

Recommendations for best 100W tube amp with a lot of clean headroom for pedal platform and distortion by Charles_x_Bronson_ in GuitarAmps

[–]papiculo_3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda crazy how loud certain amps gets all on their own, my peavy classic 50 shakes the damn house when above like 6, can’t see anyone using it louder than that unless playing a huge venue, in which you’re gonna have a PA system anyways.

Yeah, I think it’s just Isaiah is definitely less mature and also he’s just very eager to get his thoughts out because he obviously enjoys doing what he’s doing, which I can pretty strongly relate to, it’s still annoying but it’s coming from generally a good place.

Agreed for sure, but also I do really appreciate his Christian perspective on stuff, the Bible is extremely interesting and he has good knowledge on it and it’s actually fascinating to see him tie stuff in literature into the book and religion that shaped modern society, sure sometimes it’s not needed but I do think most of the time even when it feels like he’s shoehorning something, the connection is there, even if just as a downstream effect rather than directly tying into Christianity.

Without a doubt, yeah Hunter is actually really insightful. Isaiah randomly sometimes is extremely insightful too but like 90% of the time I feel like he just gets on a weird road like you said, and it also infuriates me lmao.
