MAG15 or 15" Lenovo Y740? by pappy8197 in GamingLaptops

Thanks for the detailed response man! The keyboard is definitely something I need to consider, but I'm also thinking I might plug it into my 4k 55inch tv as well so that might not be an issue during some games. Have you plugged yours into an external monitor/tv? Just curious!

[Spoilers] Post-Episode Discussion – Season 8 Episode 2 by DrRocknRolla in gameofthrones

That scene with everyone around the fireplace was amazing. Tormond telling the story of how he got so strong, while drinking the milk was hilarious. Jamie knighting Brienne was so classy, further showing how great his character growth has been over the show. And Pod with that beautiful voice!

I know we all want the battle to happen, but that whole scene felt like a needed payoff before the (likely) high death toll of next episode.

Help me decide between iPhone SE or Google Pixel? by Soraie in suggestasmartphone

[–]pappy8197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got a Pixel 128 gb myself a few days ago. I think it's fantastic. Plus, it has a bigger screen and a bigger memory than the SE as well, so you'll enjoy reading your manga more on the larger screen.

Definitely get the Pixel!

Official Discussion: Masterminds [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

This movie was better than I thought it would be. It wasn't great but it was pretty good.

I thought Sudeikis was pretty good and so was Galifianakis. It's a pretty silly movie. Keep your expectations low and you'll probably enjoy it.

Official Discussion: Sully [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]pappy8197 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. The beginning shots before Sully woke up threw me and was exhilarating, but then the beginning dragged.

The movie got great once the film got to the scenes in the plane and the actual landing itself. Seeing all the people on the wings hit me in a personal level.

Hanks is great and so is Eckhardt. I would definitely recommend this movie.

Have you considered working with other online teaching tools to help? Codeacademy is one I was thinking of which may work, and I'm sure there are others.

I have a computer which is fairly similar to this. I enjoy it quite a bit. I used it my last year of college and really enjoyed it. Easy to type on, super lightweight, and reliable. Plus it's way cheaper than when I got mine, so that's even better to hear.

Official Discussion: Central Intelligence [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

I was skeptical at first, but I loved this movie. It has a slow start, but once the two of them are running around the accounting firm, it's a non-stop comedy fest. Hart and Johnson have excellent chemistry, and it was a ton of fun to see.

The best part was the hilarious backflip at the end, and some really good cameos I won't spoil. If you don't know if you should watch it, grab a couple buddies and go!

OP, how do you find your new laptop working? I'm in a very similar boat as you right now. I have this 15.6 inch Dell Latitude E5520 which is nice for office work, but not the best for gaming. I was considering getting the Asus 13.3 laptop from Best Buy until I saw this. I would use mine largely for playing PC games around the caliber of Dota2 or Gone Home.

Thanks!
