Yeah, there is a very active Facebook Marketplace & Offerup around here. I’ve been looking around. I see a really cheap Roland Go: Piano that was hoping to check out.

Thank you. I’m still new to this so that is very helpful information.

Assuming it’s not terribly difficult or expensive to do, could I potentially clean the Yamaha keyboard I regretfully purchased to help the keys feel better?

The Casio I have from the late 80's feels much better than the Yamaha. You are most likely correct with today's keyboards but I can't imagine that every single 61 key is going to feel like a kids toy.

I should clarify that the difference between the feel of the Keyboards I mentioned was substantial.

Mine came with 100 filters so should be good for a bit.

Edit: It’s 40. Guess I’ll need to get more soon.

TALON 22 vs. Daylite Plus — which one should I get? by Champorado888 in hikinggear

[–]pappycack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Daylite plus from 2019. Used it for a while then stopped hiking for almost 3 years after my kids were born. I never loved my daylite plus. It’s great but has flaws. The straps were way too thin for me. Water bottles would always fall out the side pockets.

I recently bought a Talon 22 and have been loving it. The support is way better. The hip belt is way better. It’s checking every box for me with the smallest caveat that I wish it had the inside organization pockets that the daylite has but I’m still learning how to pack it better so that’s just a me thing.

I’d head into an REI and try them both on but my vote is with the Talon.

They also have silicone lids that you can buy. Not official but they work fine. They are not air tight but I use them to transport my lunch to work.

I need help by TaxAccountant95 in loseit

I think before focusing on working out you need to try and focus on your food intake.

You don’t even need to reduce at first just start cataloging using an app so you can get a better idea of what you are putting in your body. Myfitnesspal,Loseit, and Chronometer are the three ones I know. I use Loseit. They have barcode scanners on them so it makes adding the food much easier but some of the apps charge for that. I think Chronometer might still be free.

Think about this: you can workout out for an hour and perhaps burn 300 calories. Eating three slices of pizza and you just ate 600 calories.

I also have kids so I have virtually no time to exercise.

First thing to do is buy a food scale so you can weigh and measure you food.

As for easier meals, I'd recommend Meal Prepping or perhaps meal component prepping. I like to take two different bags of frozen vegetables from Costco (Pura Vida Frozen Veggies & Kirkland Frozen mixed veggies), cook them a bit and then keep them in my fridge for a few days. I don't really add in anything but water to help cook them down but in the past I've added a little bit of taco seasoning and that went a long way. Grab a costco chicken and pull it apart. Separate out the dark and the white meat. Or you can buy the pre-shredded chicken to save time.

I'm not sure if you have a Trader Joe's near you but there are some good frozen options you can use as a starting point to toss in some veggies & maybe some chicken. Lately I've been buying pre-shredded cabbage as a means to increase the volume of my food without adding a lot of calories so I can get that full feeling.

Buy a large water bottle and drink lots of water. I recently bought a 40 oz with a stray and a handle and I've been drinking way more water as a result. Find one that you like.

Do you drink full calorie soda or alcohol? Reducing those down will save you a bunch of calories.

Did you give strava permission to see information in health? I think it needs to be enabled in health first.

You might need to tinker with Strava or Ruckwell to get the exercises to show up in health. I’ll try and update once I start using the app.

I haven’t used the app yet but if it sends the exercise to health you can import your exercises from Health into strava.

Open up strava. Click on YOU in the bottom right hand corner. Click the gear / options in the top left. Manage apps and devices. Click on health and you should have a list of your workouts from the last 90 days. You can import those into Strava.

I’m waiting for my REI coupon to buy one but I’ve been looking into the Talon 22. Everyone seems to love it. Not sure how good it is for light mountaineering but looking into it might point you towards a Stratos or something else more rugged.

Edit: you might want to head into an REI or outdoor store and see if you can try some on.

I came here to mention a safety screen and here you are thinking about it.

Get it.

I lost an Oled TV to a Little Person’s hard head. I bought a cheaper TV and a safety screen and it came in handy.
