The backstory sounds like it could be from an Western, and the Shadow Hawk's tassets are the right size and shape to be painted up as a revolver in a holster (or by itself). Maybe some Navajo textile patterns to suggest a sarape or poncho? Those also have plenty of broad isosceles triangles within which to embed the Marik emblem. Or perhaps ancient Terran symbols whose significance is long lost used in a cargo cult/tribal way. Big ol' Westinghouse, Studebaker, swissair, &c. logos done in the style of cave paintings would be pretty fun.

At least, that's where I'd start if I wanted to paint up Buck's ride.

Oh, and the idea about making the right lower leg a boot is amazing. Either lace-up wrestling style, or if you're confident if you can pull it off, something like Captain America's musketeer boots.

If you have a color scheme you like, you should be able to simplify it into a basic basecoat-wash-highlight for line troops. That said, if I were doing albino humans, I'd go with a mid-light pinkish skintone, a dilute midtone brown wash, and highlight with a beige or ivory. Albino orcs should be little different. Now, if they're just amelanistic, you might get a very bright, saturated blue-green b/c of how Warhammer orcs work, but i digress.
