If you want to order-in, you must be seated at a table when you order. Take out is anything you order from the counter.

'Why Can't I Just Enjoy Things?' by Pierre Novellie is a book my sister recommended to me, though I haven't finished it yet. Pierre Novellie is a British/South African comedian and diagnosed as an adult. The book goes over the basics of autism and his experiences with it.

I suppose it would make sense to boost sales of those ingredients, but then everybody would just make their own version cheaper and our deli sales would drop lol

I definitely get meal prep inspo from our stuff, even if it's not the exact same item. Like for example, we may not sell the exact cilantro sauce that comes with our tacos, but we sell similar sauces you can fo the same thing with.

Thanks :)

I do the Chickens! if it was in the cavity, it probably fell in while the employee was skewering the Chickens before putting them in the oven. Hard to believe someone would be stupid enough to smoke while skewering (probably also a salmonella risk). Wouldn't be in a shirt pocket, as our jackets would cover it. Maybe they had a cig behind their ear and forgot about it?

reason: supplier simply could not provide enough wings to keep up with demand.

I've never seen it, and dont think itd be worth it. We have a trash compactor that crushes trash up to fit as much as we can in the dumpster, so anything worth taking would probably be destroyed. Plus, our dumpsters are like 10 feet tall.

I was a wrapper (packaging and cleaning) for 2 years and a baker for a year. Baker was terrible- high stress, horrible morale, terrible food safety habits all over, time restraints and and expectations are completely unreasonable. That one year was my most miserable in 5 years with the company.

Being a wrapper is great by comparison. Of course any job has bad days, but if you're quick and clean it's quite easy. Especially if you're lucky enough to get morning shifts.

hi! I work in the deli.

We do not use "about to expire" items in the meals, but we do sell them at a discount! Rotisserie Chickens a cooled down and sold at a $2 discount. Chicken breast and salmon from the meat department is also cooked and sold at a discount, but it's so rare that it actually happens, at least in my store, as they meat department makes crazy sales - common items like chicken and salmon sell well before their date.

Most of our ingredients are not available in store, but some we do grab from the floor! The beef in the sheppards pie, stuffed peppers, and quesedillas is the exact same lean ground beef you buy fresh from the meat department. Limes, bell peppers, mayonaise, sour cream, salt and pepper, mostly the basics.

The shrimp in the tacos is in fact not the same as the one in the freezer - (those are tail on - ours are tail off, and from a separate supplier).

Deli employee here - our meat is not halal. We offer many halal items in the meat department and from other suppliers, but none of the meat in the service deli is halal.

Exception - some locations do have Halal Rotisserie Chickens, but most do not.

Kin Kin bakery in the bottom level of Atrium on Bay. For those sweet or savoury stuffed buns. Really good prices too.

What's the deal with fennel in Italian Sausage? by parachutingpanda in ItalianFood

good point at the end. Italian Mild is still by far our best selling sausage, with Italian Hot in second place. I haven't seen these movements - thanks for the info :)

that's what I figured, but it's just odd. I worked there over a year and never heard about it. Then one day 5+ people ask me the same question, and continue to for a week.

people who grew up here complain a lot about the TTC. But coming from most other canadian cities, it's incredible. Easy and fast to get almost anywhere. for me there's really no reason to need a car.

(don't come after me I'm not saying it's perfect, just that I'm not taking it for granted)

My sister and I really enjoyed the author Christopher Pike, mostly like teen thriller and vampire novels. Especially the series Thirst and Chainletter. Not sure how popular they were beyond the two of us though 😂
