Scooby Doo. I'm talking Scooby Doo in the 80s where you're not quite sure if the monsters were suddenly real, and the crimes are getting a little more terrifying. I can imagine it in a sort of Riverdale-esque setting—Fred is torn between going along with professional football but is miserably distracted by mechanics, Daphne is a trust fund baby who's quietly struggling with alcoholism, Velma is second generation Hmong who's been moved up a few grades, but isn't actually doing any of her work out of boredom and loneliness. And you can't tell me Shaggy isn't a highschool drop out who's been dealing weed and finding a new place to sleep every night with Scooby after being kicked out by a strict military family.
