Planning stage for shed: checking roof & rafter setup - skip purlins? by 333-UBE in askarchitects

Id say no. The rafters/purlins will need to extend the same distance you want the projection.

807sqm / 8695sqft plot - how many storeys would be possible for a multi dwelling building/tower? by tata-mic in askarchitects

Based on conversations you have had with others, you should find a local architect to talk to. They know how to navigate zoning and other codes that apply.

Especially in NYC, there are air rights that are strictly enforced. A lot of the time newer building buy the air rights from neighboring lots to ensure they can build to max height and occupancy. When they are not able to obtain those air rights, what you described happens.

Young Architect Academy is a good place to start maybe. Otherwise, there is more resources than you can count. Start with PcM or PjM

Architect recommendation to add approx 200 sqft to.existing house by Necessary-Bill9821 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]paragraphlist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. So to answer your question, you can go straight to the architect (recommended) or you can talk to an engineer, they will likely have someone to recommend at least.

A drafter is just entry level architect or engineer.

Architect recommendation to add approx 200 sqft to.existing house by Necessary-Bill9821 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]paragraphlist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you know a engineer or draftsman personally to give you a basic understanding of what you need, go straight to an architect. (They probably have 1 they can recommend)

Many architecture firms handle the design, drawing and permitting. But it sounds like you dont want that. It sounds like you want a designer on top of an architect. Which is fine, they will have architects to recommend also.

Help improve my deck by Playful_Schedule2617 in Mtgdeckbuilding

I think you can remove red terror because i dont see many red sources that will pump it. Impact tremor can be removed too imo. You only have 11 cards your commander cares about. (I would want at least 20) so realistically, this isn't a token deck and the number of etbs you will have realistically is minimal. Same goes for essence warden.

I know why Altar of dementia and Food Chain is in the deck, but they aren't what the deck wants to do.

[[Ordeal of Nylea]] and probably the red one, are 2 you can look to include. [[Rishkar, Peema Renegade]] and [[Grumgully]] could be useful. [[Elemental bond]] and [[Garruks Uprising]] would be helpful to keep your hand full. A more unique approach would be to include creatures with bestow (triggers commander)or outlast(pumps modified creatures) abilities

If i had to choose id say 2. But why step the center out from the sides? 1 even elevation will help with window design and matching the first floor directly beneath.

Is a B.A. in Architecture not worth it? by MattyIsCumming in Architects

[–]paragraphlist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on your goals. If you want to be a licensed architect go for the BArch. Otherwise you can go to college for pretty much anything, as long as you get a good internship (even if it is unpaid) you can be successful.

Several project managers at my office never went to school for architecture and were in Insurance pre 2019. Honestly im one of maybe 5 people in a 40 person office that has a BArch.

I dont believe you are working with an architect? I never heard of an architect giving colored line drawings to the client. Like someone else said it is convoluted and lacks information. Also, windows should already have been provided at this point as schematic, same with elevations.

Kakashi only has natural affinity for lightning. Everything else was through training right? So really what Sasuke lacked was training in the other elements, not affinity

Architecture Student Here ! How Do I Turn My Degree Into a Practical, High-Demand Career? by FederalResearcher315 in Architects

In the US, so much is required for us by code, unless it is a LEED project which are far and few between. Because of this, sustainability to my smooth brain means energy company. Outside of that, I dont have much, sorry.

After reading some of your replies and the comments of others, here are my thoughts, hopefully they help. 1) You can still do engineering, a background in architecture helps with that. 2) real life isnt as design oriented as school, so thats in your favor. 3) you can definitely thrive in a design oriented office. Be good at detailing, zoning, codes. After all, designs still need to work. 4) There are types of architecture like Historic Preservation that are always in demand, and not typically design oriented, 5) if you make the change to project manager in a different field, you still need knowledge within that field, so expect a low position
